Re: The worst 45 minutes ever?
Ref had pretty bad game too! Am I right in thinking that their No 16 was booked in the first half and then hacked Joe down early in the second and no second card produced. From early on it was clear that ref was not going to give us anything. Equally lino in front of CF stand was at least two yards...

We would probably still have lost if we'd gone 3-0 up given how much the standard dropped.

Re: I'll get criticised for this but...
I agree with you to some extent - we looked brilliant for 20 minutes, then for whatever reason (likely tactical) we started playing like a Ryman League side. The 70 minutes that followed us going 2-0 up were diabolical, we stopped playing the way we started and rather than trying to kick on tried to...

Re: Groupon CTFC match offer.
I agree - as a Season Ticket holder I don't care if they discount tickets once in a while to try and engage with more fans in the hope that they become regulars. After all, the more fans that turn up long-term, the better playing budget / players we will be able to afford. And with that we would hop...

Re: Groupon CTFC match offer.
Agree with that idea, it's also a shame the club encouraged people to turn up with cash to pay for advanced tickets in order to to speed things up. There are about 2,000 people who will have attended the game and the club will have no idea who they are so can't market to them directly in future.

Boyle went down when Winchester was getting treatment first half, prior to West Ham scoring. He didn't look comfortable for the rest of the half, so i'd assume he was injured yes.

For the first goal, the ball went over the line about a metre within the post, the shot was scuffed, and it had barely any power on it. Goalkeepers push off the ground with their feet to get a bit of distance in their dive, but when he appeared to try and push off the ground his feet kind of gave w...

He's not fit to play again until atleast September.

That comment makes me assume that if 4 of our last 7 are at home, that's also the same as 4 of our last 8 being at home (or you'd have said 5 of our last 8). So basically half, probably the same as everyone elselittle mo wrote:Actually, my previous post was incorrect. 4 of last 7 are at home.

Re: Clubs chasing Billy Waters
It's not really a good time for us to cash in, if we had him on another 2 year contract then a year's time (before he turns 24) would be the best time. In the current situation we'd be relying on compensation being agreed, which could go either way.

I wonder how much of his decision will be based on us letting go of all of his best friends this summer. Maybe now they're all going he'll think it's the time for his own new start.

Billy is only 22, he'll be here next season unless someone pays us a handsome amount of money. If he gets 20 league goals this season his value even through compensation would be more than decent, given the development he's made here. I can see him signing a 2 or 3 year contract if we are in decent ...

I expect Parslow to be one of the ones departing if we lose a centre half. He wasn't a target for Johnson last season if I remember rightly, he asked to come in on trial and managed to impress enough (or maybe we couldn't find anyone better before the season began). Downes on the other hand must be ...

Re: Will Rob Dickie extend his loan stay?
You say he's clearly not ready for league one, but i'd have said that about Cameron Burgess. Part of the issue for someone like Dickie (and the rest of the defence) is that we can't string 2 passes together in front of them or hold the ball up top - so the defence is being exposed a lot more than yo...

I expect something like the below, with Dickie not being risked (unless we rest O'Shaughnessy instead). Expecting Pell, Waters and Wright all to be given a rest.
Kitscha
Barthram
Parslow
O'Shaughnessy
Jennings (if fit)
Hall
Whitehead
Rowe
Smith
Morgan Smith
Arthur

O'Shaughnessy

Re: Johnson will lose dressing room Barthram battle
If Barthram wasn't happy about not coming on at right back / or starting - I wouldn't be happy if he wasn't angry at that (and I doubt GJ would want a player who wasn't unhappy at not being involved). Personally, I could probably see Barthram's point of view as I think he's a better player than Suli...

Why would the club discount tickets for it? We've discounted tickets before and hardly seen an uplift in attendance. Simple maths suggests that you can get a crowd of 3,000 paying full price you'd need a load more people to attend if you offered 25 or 50% off the ticket price and wanted to make the ...

We'll be fine, we've been missing a few keys players in pre season namely Phillips, Dickie, Downes, Munns, Dayton (for some of it). Danny Wright was up against some tough defenders last night, I commented that Barnsley were a very tall physical side especially at the back.
