Re: Lincoln City
Anyone know who the clubs are at our level who own their own grounds? It's murky but I understood Derby and Reading did own their grounds but that was moved to companies under their former/current owners. Portsmouth, Lincoln, Northampton and Wycombe own their grounds based on a google search, inter...

Obviously not. ... [but] the threat to professional clubs in the EFL is greatly overstated (imo). ... when you count crowds, revenues, participants, overseas interest, investment, sponsorship and media etc, English professional football has never been healthier overall (imo). Re: Tom King
I’m in agreement that Tom King should be on the bench, he’s clearly got the ability to make an impact and it is what dreams are made of. You can’t teach speed and he has that. We know he can score goals, as he would not have caught the eye of the Young England selectors. He could cause a lot of cons...

Re: Destiny is in our hands
I’m not one for conspiracy theories, but I have come to a recent conclusion involving the huge sums of money that gets ploughed into the EFL & Premier League. Football is big business, and in business, money talks and that being the case, Cheltenham cannot possibly be a popular team especially a...

Re: Shrewsbury big loss
It’s not good for professional football in England if we start to lose EFL Clubs. Obviously not. But the threat to professional clubs in the EFL is greatly overstated (imo). There was a real problem in 2002 when ITV Digital went bust and dragged a number of EFL clubs into Administration. But the pr...

Just a personal view - it is probably the case that a lot of Championship / League 1 / League 2 Clubs factor in money expected to be cascaded from the Premier League, hence running up some level of debt (not all of the debt, as that would likely constitute serious mismanagement for whatever reason)...

£500,000 raised is absolutely tremendous, well done Steve, that is an admirable milestone. Goals are definitely worth a rewatch https://youtu.be/DC-Ygjqov1U?si=4ghNZU6jTbYvnAlt All three goals were things of beauty. What’s really pleasing is we are not just relying on strikers to get the goals. We are no longer cautious about pushing everyone into the oppositions defence, which hugely in...

Block 1 and fans behind the goal adjacent to Block 1, already sing, to the tune of ‘London Bridge’
“Matty Taylor is a Red, is a Red, is a Red,
Matty Taylor is a Red,
He hates Rovers”.

Re: Deadline day signing number four
The Chris Waddle style I can see for sure, but he also reminds me of Josh Low, when Josh was at his best. Jordan has that same ability to drop the shoulder, throwing defenders off balance, twist and turn to leave them standing, and he has a lovely left foot shot or a cross. Not surprised other clubs...

most of them look like between 7 and 10 years ago. Question would have to be asked if he is a capable striker, why is he playing at Oldham and why are they loaning him out. Re: Doidge signs …
I mentioned on 30th January in the ‘Top Target’ thread, that I had long admired Doidge. I had a feeling he might be available from Hibernian. He was valued at c£50K. FGR have done well to get him back, he’s almost 3 years younger than Matty Taylor and 4 inches taller. Taylor is the same height as Al...

£1M ? That’s a heck of a lot of money for a player that doesn’t appear to have set the football world on fire with appearances, goals or assists, and who has played mostly at lower levels/reserves. I think WHU saw CAFC coming. Time will tell.

Do people think Sercs, Pett and Thompson could be our best ever midfield trio? Penn, Pack and Summerfield were good but in my view not this good. I feel sorry for the real fans. There’s about 500 who are the core, who love that club, who’ve worked tirelessly to keep it going. They have more in common with us than they have difference. the Keena conundrum!! Indeed ! Getting the Trust to act like a Shadow Board? That sounds too much like Parliament for my liking, where the ‘opposition/shadow cabinet’ are constantly bickering with the Government in thinly veiled attempts to embarrass one another.
