Re: JP tweeting
We started the day needing a minimum of 3 forward additions and we’re on -1 (plus a defender) at 3.30pm [/quote] Can’t see any benefit to the Barnsley loan signing, surely between the defenders we have available Freestones position could be coveted for two games either by a right sided pls or by swi...

Can’t miss opportunities like that from 4yds no one near him and scuffs the shot. Plenty positives but have to score at least one of the chances. Bradbury /Davies looking a bit shakey.

Re: Bolton Wanderers v Cheltenham Town
Difficult conditions again, a very strong wind, hopefully rain stays off. Going with 3 CBs think we will see lots of aerial duels and long balls.
Start the same as last game and get them under pressure from the off.

Re: Liam Kinsella to sign
If fit and on this seasons form Sercombe and Pett are starters leaving the others to fight it out for the other midfield slot , essentially leaving 4 players scrapping over one position. Makes for a busy bench of midfielders. I’d really like to see a striker come in as don’t want to become reliant o...

Re: Bolton Wanderers v Cheltenham Town
Hoping the medical emergency is resolved and the person is ok. Bolton have been poor so far, very sloppy in possession. Haven’t troubled us so far. The back 3 match up physically but I worry if Bolton start going down the sides that we lack pace. Got to feel a bit sorry for Smith who’s been very goo...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Shrewsbury Town
Our defence has impressed me in the last few games. I was worried the injury to Davies would have a negative effect as he’s been really good but managed to keep two clean sheets which is great. Smith has shown versatility moving into the back 3 and both his and Bradburys fitness levels have been gre...

Just back, boy that was cold and incredibly windy. Interesting selection from DC to put Smith in at CH and Long at RWB, like the whole team both were excellent and gave everything! Bit surprised Smith lasted 90 only having returned from injury last week. Hoping Davies and Street will make Boxing Day...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Wigan Athletic
Battling really well after losing a soft goal, first 15 I was worried but settled well and deserved equaliser. They will get a rocket at half time so hopefully we can continue to upset their rhythm. On a side note spoke to Liam Smith there and asked about his injury. He said he’s had a clean up proc...

3-5-2 Ferry and Long at WBs.
Think it’ll be similar to Cambridge play long and push high and try to feed off second ball.

Reading between the lines we will have a much smaller squad by the end of January, a few loanees will go back and a few others will be off loaded. New manager has massive job on his hands to get confidence into the team. The players probably have no confidence in the strikers so when we go a goal down the whole team sinks and hides not wanting to get on the ball for fear of making a mistake.

Re: Not what I expected
D’Henry apparently has done his hammy and faces 6 weeks out. Looking at Smiths history he missed the last few weeks of last season with a ligament injury. Wade said it wasn’t the same injury but it was connected.
Have to assume both have long lay offs if a third rwb has signed.

Very disappointing second half and difficult to find any positives for all I was impressed with D’Henry first half but other than his chance , he totally fell out the game second, I’m hoping it’s just a fitness thing with the step up from U20s. Ferry looked more effective through middle of park. Dav...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Northampton Town
D’Henry only one who looks to create, looks decent going forward. Northampton creating too many good chances. I’d go 4-5-1 and push Henry on. Street and Keena offer very little. Need to find a strong CF on loan to boss defenders and hold it up for others then to support.

Don’t mind the formation with Thompson sitting in front of the 3 which allows WBs to push higher up. Needs to stick up front and build from there but just keeps coming back.

Re: Loan defender
No disrespect to the lad but just don’t get the need for this signing. Surely a striker is the area that needs strengthening, I have seen nothing in the previous games to suggest Keena, Street or Goodwin will score regularly. They have had good opportunities and failed to test a keeper. Realisticall...
