For your phone, download Adblock Fast and make sure it's enabled. Although I've five installed, according to my browser, that's the only one that's active.

I think he vanished in a puff of smoke in the dressing room at half time against Buxton.

Might indicate that he's good, technically - but he's been sent to L2 to toughen him up.

Re: POP UP ADS etc.
You need what is known as an Ad Blocker. Where is 'here'? Are you on a PC or on a phone? If the latter, is it an iPhone or an Android? What browser are you using (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, etc)? I usually view on my Android mobile, using the built-in Samsung browser and see precisely ZERO ads, pop-ups,...

Definitely wasn't that match I was thinking about, then. The one I remember was called off about 45 mins before kick-off as I was on my way there. I'm 100% certain it was due to rain - but whether it was the pitch or the surrounding roads, I'm not sure.

Re: Postponed
I remember that i was once driving past the Chelsea BS offices on the way to a match when a game v Southend was called off. I think that was an evening fixture, but I dunno when. I think I was probably still living in Up Hatherley at the time, so early naughties, I'd guess. There used to be an absol...

Yea, it's not simple - how thick would the cushions have to be to be of any use and how do you stop idle fingers from fiddling with the fastenings?
Rugby posts did not always have that thick layer of padding on them, to use an example from another sport.

Re: Cheltenham Town v Grimsby Town
The big guy, Rogers, seemed to be having a number of conversations with SC in the second half. Unfortunately, I was in the Tunnel rather than the Paddock, so couldn't tell clearly what was going on. It seemed conversational rather than confrontational (unlike the set-to between SC and the assistant ...

Re: Kettering Town
Weird...it popped up on a magazine news-feed on my phone and was definitely written in present tense (grammar freak, here), suggesting demolition had only just started. I wonder now if it was an old article that had simply never been updated.

One for the nostalgic amongst you: I just read that the old Rockingham Road stadium is finally being demolished to make way for housing, after lying derelict for a decade or more. I know KT went to Nene Park for a brief period but, since then, they've played at Burton Latimer (where my lad lived for...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Grimsby Town
We only need to be better than two other teams - and I think we're definitely better than Harrogate, Shrewsbury and Bristol Rovers, right now, at least. My fear is that Evans will probably turn things around at the Mem, but that still leaves two. Let's get this season out of the way and start buildi...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Grimsby Town
He put in a shift, particularly in the first half. Should have done much better with one clear chance - but scuffed it straight at the keeper. We really need a quick, nimble striker to back him up.

I have a long-departed great uncle who lived within sight of his steel-works workplace in Scunny. I've vague memories of visiting him, there.

Exactly how I described him to my wife, earlier. Reminds me of Craig Armstrong, back in the day: never spectacular, but workmanlike and would turn in a solid 7 out of 10, week in week out.

Free Tunnel ticket available v Grimsby
I have one adult ticket available for the Tunnel enclosure that I'd be happy to give away for free if anyone wants it. If you didn't know, Sky run a 'VIP' ticket ballot each month or so where you put your name down for tickets for any Prem or EFL match - the only proviso being you have to be a 'home...

Re: Steve Cotterill after Oldham defeat
I think the aim when SC arrived was to stabilise and, obviously, avoid relegation. I don't expect a spending spree this month, chasing what I consider to be a lost cause of the play-offs.

Job Vacancies
CTFC are looking for both a media manager and a marketing manager. Neither advert specifies a salary range, only that it's 'dependant on experience'. Maybe it's different elsewhere but, in my IT industry, that would immediately raise red flags that they couldn't afford me and I wouldn't bother apply...

Clarke banned for 'highly violating' act on opponents: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/ar ... 2ljl57ge7o

Still some way to go to reach the standard of the rugby player who was banned after he inserted his finger into...well, I'll leave the details...it's well before the watershed...

Re: Our Image as 'non league'
I hate to be that "problem for every solution" guy but, whenever it gets mentioned about putting temporary terracing in the Canteen area, my immediate thoughts are that the security tower has to have an uninterrupted view of the whole ground - and could you realistically have a food kiosk ...
