Re: russ penn
I have absolutely no problem with 4-5-1/4-3-3. Name any of the top sides in any division which regularly plays 4-4-2, it lacks creativity as midfielders going forward create huge holes and make you susceptible to a counter attack. Why not go back to 4-5-1? We used it in 2011/12 to good effect. There...

Re: Three up top at Accrington
It seems so frustrating that Yates can't see some of his players best roles. Deering is not a winger, but he can be very threatening in behind the striker. McGlashan is a right winger, I'm not a fan of him on the left. Byron, despite his height, strikes me as a poacher. So why is he having the ball ...

From a selfish point of view. A Premier League team (pref Liverpool) at home. I work until 6 and have very little holiday left unbooked

Re: Great stuff Byron
The regular boo-boy who stands near me was giving Byron stick in the first half. After he scored, he turned his attention to Matt Richards and Russ Penn. Even claiming in more fruity language that Richards was useless, fat and can't pass for toffee.

Re: Two points dropped
Deering showed me yesterday that he is not a winger. That whole right side was exposed for the whole second half by Deering spending most of his time in the centre and Jombati not being quite in the game. To drop Jombati now however would be a bit of a knee jerk reaction. I love Deering's work rate ...

Re: Ryan Inniss
I will admit. I wasn't impressed with Byron in the few games I saw him play last season. But today his work rate was excellent. Gornell is a better target man however, the ball stuck better to him. Perhaps if they are going to play together a bit we need to teach our other players to look for Gornel...

Plenty of cases of players heading upwards at a young age, dropping into non-league, then settling off in L1/Championship. He's not done yet. Just ask Sam Foley.

Re: Anyone on here think we wont make the top 7?
Some brilliant astute signings considering our budget and "attraction" level. (any person who thinks we should me more attractive than any London/Manchester clubs is kidding themselves) The squad is solid and perfect for top 7. My main worries going into this season is tactics - will we ha...

Agreed
Can't tackle, can't head and can't pass, perfect midfielder. Fatty Evans pulled a blinder on us there.

Clearly missed his cracking cross in the first half then, which Cureton couldn't quite get on the end of.
Oh and the fact we were playing League One Coventry, in a friendly, for fitness!

Re: "I can't let games pass me by anymore"
A mate of mine said at the start of last season. I would put money on Jermaine being the most fouled player in League Two this season. From having been at every home game last season, I'm fairly sure he would have won his money. It's very hard to beat players and get crosses in if every team double ...

Re: Training ground
Excuse my ignorance. But on non-matchdays, do the Chairman, management and coaches base themselves at Seasons or at WR?
If it's the latter, could this also be with a view to having better office space in place, especially with the future (possible) development of the main stand?

We are still paying him, as he is still in contract until 31st July (as far as I know) We also hold his registration until his contract expires (or is dissolved by both parties via a transfer) In my understanding, a player registration is the players right to play for a given club. It is registered ...

I did think that, surely he is better off training with a club rather than hiding in fitness first.Robin wrote:Shame he hasn't bothered to turn up for pre-season training with us until a deal can be agreed with another club.

And at least we are a loyal bunch and follow our team away from home ;) We have a lot of floating fans due to them supporting Man U or City and due to the large metropolitan population. Erm, nice contradiction. Which is it? And you're not the only team to suffer that. I know people who travel from ...

Getting us back on topic. I had my 30th Birthday Party in the Victory Bar on Saturday, and looking out the window the pitch looked fine and healthy and growing well.
Credit as usual to our ground staff, and whomever has paid for this new pitch (was it the 500 club again?)
