Re: Gillingham v Cheltenham Town
I stand corrected. Was it that way last season, am I confusing it with the pizza cup or did I dream it?

Re: Gillingham v Cheltenham Town
And Evans should have done better with the goal tonight, it would appear.
Nice to make it to the Third Round - hopefully a nice away tie at Manchester United perhaps.

Re: Michael Duff after the defeat at Fleetwood
Yes... It's not the best look. The fact is that we have the Club's Statement and Wilcox's alleged accounts to various supporters. Neither of which really take us much further. It is ultimately water under the bridge and we have our Board and we have to expect that they are competently running the fo...

Re: Ben Tozer rumour
I wouldn't blame Tozer for wanting a guaranteed income for three years that exceeds what he is currently earning here. Life as a professional footballer is short and there is little security for a lower league footballer. The club has to make a call as to what value it places on League One football ...

Re: Michael Duff after the defeat at Fleetwood
Speculating as to what may or may not have been the reasons for Wilcox's departure is unhelpful. To unseat the Chair (and even from the Board) over a difference in opinion over a "modest increase" in the playing budget (as the sole or main cause) does seem rather unlikely to me.

Yes, Sean Long.
We can't be too reliant on one player and I'm sure Duffo has planned for the eventuality that he leaves or is injured for an extended period of time.

Although I'm expecting Fleetwood to struggle, I'm not sure I can see them going on a 4 game losing streak.

Re: Cheltenham Town v Ipswich Town
I have now had the opportunity to watch the game back on iFollow: > Structurally, we started off with a flat 5-3-2 off the ball and Ipswich 'officially' started with a 4-2-3-1 (although it was much closer to 4-2-2-2 or 4-4-2, with Bonne joining Pigott up front). Ipswich were very narrow in their bui...

Re: Will Boyle
I've said it before but WB is attractive partly because he is left footed. Teams that like to play out from the back will need a left footed centre back and they are pretty rare. He is getting better every season too. I think we will see him leave in January if not this month I'm afraid as there is ...

The SLO has reached out to people. I really don't understand what more you expect her to do? She has made herself available online and offline and has done a huge amount behind the scenes considering she is a volunteer.
As for your anecdotal example, I'm sure that happened.

Re: Cheltenham Town v Wycombe Wanderers
I have finally got around to watching it - some thoughts: - Generally, we were competitive in all areas. This match was won and lost by moments of quality. That is encouraging. - Both sides played a similar game structurally, but Wycombe especially were very quick to get the ball forward to Vokes an...

Re: 3,000
I agree. All very sensible points. The problem we have is that we have tried the cheaper tickets approach before a few times, but the marginal attendance gains did not make up the shortfall in price. We have a small but loyal core fan base but as you say, that will have its limits. The sooner the cl...

Re: 3,000
Lots of clubs are cashless now. Are there really that many people who only carry physical notes and coins and not cards? I'd genuinely like to know why. The price of a ticket is an issue and it is a gamble to maximize revenue from away supporters who are likely to pack out the away end. This will in...

Re: Parklands
Generally, signage makes no difference - the land is either private or it is not. Whether the public can 'use' the land depends on its status, whether there are any public rights of way and any licences.
You should of course obtain proper legal advice rather than rely on someone on a football forum!

It is actually the reverse! It is the person in possession of the land who would have an actionable claim for trespass. Trespass is usually a civil offence but it can stray into criminality if it is combined with some other offence, like criminal damage. This is all counterfactual thankfully, but I ...

Freestone is more of a CB than a LWB. I suspect Duffo is looking for someone who is primarily a winger that can defend.
