Re: Preston North End v Cheltenham Town
Having watched back the goals it was a great finish from Vassell one of a player who looked in form so nice to see him back up his good cameo against Oxford. Not sure what is going on with Evans he seems to have lost all confidence. Should have claimed the cross on the second goal and I would expect...

Boyle being out for a month is a big loss too. Especially as him, Long and Pollock were looking a strong back 3. Let's hope it is nothing too serious and he can get back asap.

Re: Cheltenham Town v Oxford United
I think it is also about adapting to the opposition. Let's not forget our goal came from a long kick from Flinders. Sometimes you can get joy from playing the ball in behind the CB's especially when they are playing a high line. What impressed me was how well we defended the lead. We forced Oxford t...

Re: Best team we've played
I think it is very noticeable we struggle most when teams press us high up the pitch and pin our full backs back. MK Dons is a good example of that we seem to stuggle to break teams down who can pin us back especially as we don't tend to play with a striker capable of holding the ball up so we don't...

Re: Best team we've played
Having seen most matches this season (Missed Fleetwood and Charlton) I would say we have shown we are capable of matching anyone in this league. Admittedly MK Dons outplayed us last week and Wycombe were probably just more streetwise at this level and managed to grind out a result similar to what we...

Re: Cheltenham Town v MK Dons
Good analysis in this thread. Again it was very noticeable that our wing backs were pinned back nearly the whole game after our opening goal meaning we lacked options going forward when we won the ball back. At the moment I would say that has looked our weakest area on Saturday both Hussey and Blair...

Re: Callum Wright: best CTFC player ever (in his position)?
Reminds me a bit of Lampard in the way he seems to pop up in goal scoring positions in and around the box and how effective his long range shots are. Only thing he needs to work on may be his fitness as he seems to struggle to see out matches but hopefully that will improve as the season develops.

Does this mean the deal for Joseph at Swansea is off I wonder?
I had hoped we may have paid a fee for a striker and reinvested some of the Tozer money but it is looking unlikely at the moment.

Re: Michael Duff after the defeat at Fleetwood
He is still allowed to watch ctfc so what is the problem with him attending matches? It is inevitable he will be asked by supporters what happened and it doesnt sound like he is going into massive detail. Obviously as fans we dont get the whole detail of what goes on in the boardroom. What I would s...

Re: Ben Tozer rumour
As always a lot will depend on the player. There is no point standing in his way if he desperately wants to leave. What I would say if he is happy here there is no way we should be letting him leave unless Wrexham put in a crazy offer something like 400k or over. If we are serious of staying in leag...

The problem is it feels like this comes up every season. At least with Wilcox he felt like he understood the frustrations and seemed to have plans to make some improvements and wasnt afraid to talk to fans after the game and listen to us.

Re: Cheltenham Town v Wycombe Wanderers
I have finally got around to watching it - some thoughts: - Generally, we were competitive in all areas. This match was won and lost by moments of quality. That is encouraging. - Both sides played a similar game structurally, but Wycombe especially were very quick to get the ball forward to Vokes a...

I agree I can see the sense in their policy of basically ripping off away fans knowing they will pay it due to being a new ground for most and them having big followings. At the same time it is very risky to start alternating your own fan base in the long run. If we go down what happens then when aw...

Unfortunately not a surprise and it will only decrease as the season goes on. I'm not too bothered about the masks as that is personal choice and we are outdoors also with hand sanitizer it's quite easy to just bring your own. One complaint I would make is the fact there seemed to be 1 soap dispenser in the colin farmer toilets meaning by the 2nd half it was empty and none wa...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Wycombe Wanderers
I thought the game was actually similar to last week in terms of we went behind but then managed to get a goal back before half time. May then like last week had a couple of chances at this level you have to to take. If we got 2-1 up the whole complexion of the game changes. The difference this week...

I assume that means Duff must have another LB lined up. A free agent would make sense as I can't see many teams willing to loan out a player who will be a back up to Hussey.

Re: No iFollow video any more
To look at it a different way it does help boost attendances. For example come a cold Tuesday evening or Saturday in winter a lot of fans may take the option of I follow rather than actually attending the match which would be a loss of income for the club. I must admit I will miss not being able to ...

Virtually all the mainstream news articles reviews are based on the size of clubs rather than any analysis. You almost know before opening the article it will be the likes of ourselves and Morecambe to be in the relegation zone and the likes of Ipswich,Sunderland,Porstmouth top 3.

I think Duff knows he already has the core of a squad who can compete at this level and are comfortable with his tactics and game plans. I fear the deal is dead if he isn't at the ground today especially if we did offer him a contract earlier in the week.
I must admit to being a bit disappointed we are a week away from the season and we haven't yet signed a striker or attacking midfielder the two positions we are weakest.

I agree with that in this day in age you would expect most stadiums to be moving to the print at home option or tickets that can be downloaded to a mobile device. Would save queues on match day of people waiting to pick up tickets.

He does look the type of player who if he did well could move on for big money. I would say that is fair. I think at the moment it is still hard to predict our chances as we are still at least 4 signings away from a full squad and these could be the difference in deciding our season. You would imagine a number 9 and attacking midfielder will be 2 of these and they would be expe...

Interesting others mention the pitch width I often wonder if it is the reason we struggle to be as fluid at home as we are away of if it is more to do with the way teams shape up against us. Certainly no need to panic these things happen and although a game you would expect to win Morecambe wont be near the bottom this season. The absence of a natural rwb didn't help and I always feel having Thomas in midfield helps balance us more. Key will be getting Blair fit to get Thomas back in mi...

I thought Bonds and Azaz player well and look promising. Reid looked as sharp as I have seen him hopefully a proper pre season will get him firing and 100% fit as he didnt seem that at times last season. Seems crazy to me that a team may be promoted based of 3 games where all clubs going into it wont have played for months and have no match fitness. We really missed him today. I read somewhere he has the 2nd most passes in league 2 this season for defenders that shows how much he dictates our play.
