Re: Darrell Clarke after Oxford United defeat
If we go down hopefully DC sees it as unfinished business. By the end of the season he will have had 34 or 35 games whilst our relegation rivals all had 46. He knows if he had 46 games we would have stayed up. I hope that means he wants to get us straight back up then keep us up to complete the job.

Re: Oxford United v Cheltenham Town
what does Clarke see in Nuttall? Given he has barely picked him until there was no other option, I suggest not a lot. why’s he at the club then? We needed a big striker with experience and probably signed the one we able to afford and who was willing to sign. Same we way we end up with most signings.

Re: Information for fans travelling to Oxford on Saturday
How is it being funded? Looks like it will mainly be relying on institutional finance, debt and private investment alongside any grants. “A budget north of £100 million has been set for the construction of the proposed stadium. Asked how the ground could be funded, Ferguson said: “We’ve got to have...

Re: Your pre match routine
Speaking of that consistent application of rules by stewards, at some games it’s perfectly fine to take beer from the sports bar to the concourse, at others there’s a steward stationed on the door rigorously enforcing the rule. Does it depend on whether the away fans have half the concourse? When h...

Re: Your pre match routine
Usually staying with family on a match weekend. Goes one of three ways: 1. Walk to the ground from their house (about 40 mins) and use the time to catch up on the Robins Report podcast if I haven’t heard it yet. Get a Fanta from the canteen, nip to the loo, and in my seat for 14:45. 2. Lunch with fa...

Re: NO MORE PENNY PINCHING IN L2 NEXT SEASON
I'm assuming that our EFL Trophy prize money paid for Keena, so losing £530K with no big outlays on other transfer fees is extremely worrying. I'd like to know where that money went - Seasons? May & Goodwin sales should balance the books, but what about the current season? Probably high wages f...

Re: NO MORE PENNY PINCHING IN L2 NEXT SEASON
A strike-force is an absolute must. Replacing the May and Goodwin is paramount, which certainly hasn't happened this season. Goodbye L1 and we welcome the joys of Barrow. 😡 Yes it is paramount - but we've just posted a £530k loss and if we get relegated some players will leave along with a reduced ...

Which resulted in a big paid off... Not in the latest set of published accounts, it didn't. Ergo, that has nothing whatsoever to do with the £500k loss. Well it certainly contributed to the lost. A big chuck of the loss was the purchase of Seasons, so was expected. Wade’s payoff will be in the acco...

just got around listening to see, two things struck me: 1. The deep fear Clive had in his voice when he said the loses weren't sustainable 2. Wouldn't it be better for the whole of lower league football if *some finance and club owners admitted that their football clubs aren't sustainable. The main...

Re: Lies, damn lies and statistics
Think we need more than 48 or 49. The teams above us on 38/39 have 10/11 games left. I'd expect them all to hit 10 points on that amount of games. You would think so. but since mid Nov the performance of the teams in the relegation area have been remarkable consistent in not pushing that safety lin...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Burton Albion
A total of two shots on target in our last three games must be a big concern. How many did we have yesterday, I could only think of two both for Taylor one which seemed a certain goal but defender blocked it and the other the free header which the keeper caught easily. BBC says no efforts on target...

So what were you implying? I believe he is implying that given the losses in FY2022-23 it is even more infuriating we let May go so cheap in this financial year - we could have done with selling May for £500k to get us back in the black in the next accounts. We could still be in the black depending...

Re: Wycombe Wanderers v Cheltenham Town
Having caught up with the teams above us, we seemed to have adopted a hang on and nick it style of play. But maybe Wigan and Wycombe who we have played away from home are tough fixtures, so 2 points would have been good, 1 point better than nothing. Season will be defined by other games like Burton...

Probably not a planned tactic. Just players not having a good night. As Duff used to say, when we aren’t on it our passing game falls apart.robinsrule wrote: ↑27 Feb 2024, 20:06 We’ve barely strung two passes together. I don’t get the long ball tactics with two short guys up front.
