Re: Gloucestershire (FGR) news - Manager set to depart.
Misogyny is likely to become a hate crime and I would advise any individuals on this forum to tread very carefully indeed about the attributes of females, from a skills qualification perspective, in any profession. We are a civilised Western democracy. We are not the Taliban.

Funding for grants appears to be covered here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/find-funding-to-help-your-business-become-greener#find-current-funding Without funding, such an installation would probably cost around £80-£100K - and possibly be VAT free. The outlay can be recouped over several years due t...

Re: Something to pin on the dressing room door
Looking at the full list of Teams in League 1, I don’t see anything there that frightens the hell of of me. Derby appear to be favourites, but we have special agent Curtis on the tactical awareness for those two games 😉. At the end of last season I thought Wycombe looked the worst side we’d faced t...

Re: Rumour Mill
I would dearly like Alfie to stay another season - however, I think the main reason he is still ‘in the building’ is because Cheltenham are currently paying his wages - any new Club signing him will want to limit having to pay his salary until he actually starts kicking a ball for them in anger. The...

He’s been one of our top performers over the last season - but he’s 33, so it’s the tail end of his career, and maybe one last shot at a season’s wage bigger than CTFC offer, before he calls it a day.
Good luck to him but we needed to be looking at some point soon to replace him anyway.

Anyone care to speculate what Aaron Downs was doing in Cheltenham on Monday ? Is it A Cheltenham Thing ? [emoji6] He’s currently got at least the UEFA A-Licence. He lives here, in Hatherley/Warden Hill I believe as have seen him around and in Morrisons. Yep, I would say that qualifies as ‘A Chelten...

It’s unfair to judge Russ Milton now - judge him in a years time. He is the continuity option, and as we keep hearing from the Club “ It’s a Cheltenham Thing”. I’m sure Reading, Wigan, Fleetwood, Morecambe and probably others, wish they had something like “A Cheltenham Thing”. Stay in budget, stay i...

Re: Why is there no smoke
Now perhaps, people can see why I was asking how the Moore ‘handover’ was going to take place after he’d departed and before the new man had been announced. Now it all makes sense - a done deal, so the handover had already taken place prior to Moore’s au-revoir.

It could be a written handover pack or video recorded handover of course. Re: Why is there no smoke
The things that looks a bit odd to me about the recruitment process for Moore’s replacement, are contained in these two snippets from JP’s report of 6 June 2023: “The club's first director of football Micky Moore is now in the final week of his employment with the Robins before he officially moves t...

It’s always a worrying time of the year, closed season, when not much seems to be happening, other than agents posturing to get the best deals for their clients. We tend to regard existing players as having something unique that we can ill-afford to lose, but in reality they are all replaceable - th...

Re: Rumour Mill
We didnt spend big on Norton and Goodwin, look what we got, we will have to spend big to bring in a striker to match the partnership i feel May and Keena would of achieved. Our midfield dont contribute much to our goal tally so to me its vital Alfie is replaced with a potential 15 to 20 goal strike...

For what it is worth (not much, when considering the general degradation within this thread), I hope above all that Micky Moore stays at CTFC. Re: JP’s updates thread.
Surely a lower end Championship club could offer Alfie the same wages as Wrexham. Would be a bit naff if he went there. Agreed, it would feel like a backward step from a footballing perspective, but for his family it would represent a big payday, like the one Ben Tozer accepted. Also, if Alfie went...

Re: Attendances
It's not all attendances though, off the field revenue will make a huge difference at this level. I can't imagine Bristol Rovers make anything at the run down memorial ground, yet clubs like Burton who get by on low attendances benefit greatly from training facilities and non-match day income. I he...

Thought that was destined for a 95th minute Alfie winner. I hope he's had the ovation he deserves. I'm sad I'm not there to add to it this week, although I gave it some last week. He got an ovation alright. What a player, what a man. Hope by some miracle he stays but I just can't see it happening. ...

Re: Ticket allocation for FGR
It’s sad that the owner of FGR has driven a wedge between the two clubs and a lot of the supporters. Murry Tom’s first act as a Director can be to make a gif of a gold star being scratched out and changed to grey to go on the scoreboard pre-match. I have to say, I would dearly like to see that happ...
