Cant see Gornell playing much if Yatex sticks to a 4-3-3 system.

Anyone with the power to do so care to update page one?
Well we now have twenty signed on and Cureton the new reserve keeper about to follow. That means we can realistically expect no more than two more signings, one being first choice centre half. I also expect Dale, Powell and Bown to go out on loan so essentially we are back operating on a similar squad to last season without the loans, the experienced players and arguably a lot of the quality (Brown, McGlashan, Noble etc).

My error originally - Haworth needs to be included in the OP.

Or the reverse as the energy of youth and improvement as the team gets more experienced sees us get better and better as we approach May 2015.Robin wrote:It must be possible but if we don't start adding proven/experienced and quality players it's likely to be one hard slog of a season.

Yes. I wasn't say what I suggested will happen. Just it might. I won't predict either way.

Keep them coming.ghandi wrote:What you need to be successful with a squad like this is a manager with incite & vision.A good man-manager to get the best out of players & tactical nous to know how to use them.Does anybody know anyone like this who's available at the moment?

I'm still trying to work out what 'incite' is.

If the season started tomorrow, I'd imagine the line up we'd see (injuries permitting) would be:
Carson
Vaughan
M. Taylor
Brown
Black
J. Taylor
Hall
Richards
Gornell
Harrison
Howarth
Subs:
Jones (?)
Elliott
Deaman
Hanks
Kotwica
CBB
Williams/Sterling-James
To complete the jigsaw I think we need a sub keeper (maybe this Jones character), a wide striker and a central midfielder.

From what I've seen so far I'd have Black at left back myself.Robin wrote:I would say CBB will start at left back and Arthur will be on the bench ahead of Sterling-James/Williams.

Robin - Plenty of pace up front,, do you reckon we have the youth/experience mix right now? Agree with your team bar Taylor. With him and Richards our Midfield will be too slow. Im hoping that the CM that Yates is looking for will have a bit more pace than those 2. I would then drop Taylor to accommodate the new guy.

Jack Deaman has his name in lights next to Drogba and he hasnt even played a competitive match for us yet! Look at top right of page.

Take out our youth players and the squad looks very small ...
Carson
Vaughan
Deaman
Brown
Taylor (M)
Elliott
CBB
Black
Haworth
Richards
Taylor (J)
Hall
Sterling-James
Arthur
Harrison
Gornell
Could probably add Hanks to that list, but I don't think Zack & Harry are ready for anything more than a cameo from the bench at present. Lot of unknowns and some players that many think aren't up to scratch. Worrying times.
