If it's Bingham then we will sure have one inexperienced team.

Peterborough are very good in signing non-league gems. Hope we have some luck.

so what do we need up front if it is 1 or 3

Byron is not the best target man but will do
In a 3 you want pace and 2 wide men getting the ball in from one side and the other getting in the box with pace and finishing
Gornell does not immediately fit that but might work. Haworth looks as if he might fit that

We need another striker ( at least it wont be Parkin as hes just signed for FGR)

I think that largely depends on who the mystery centre half is, Robin. Bingham sounds a pacey prospect, something we could do with on both flanks in a 4-3-3 with byron or terry in the middle. I can't see how jc fits into a 4-3-3. We did ok with wes thomas and jeff goulding - neither were exactly brimmng with football league experience.

Note, Goulding, Duffy and Mo were the front three who terrorised Crawley.

Goulding and Duffy were both strikers and only Mo was a wide player - shows you don't need to have a midfielder out wide on both sides in the 4-3-3.

If anything our 4-3-3 got less effective when we introduced McGlashan - a more traditional winger rather than a right-forward.

We were playing 4-5-1 then with Goulding upfront and DUffy/Mo on the the wings.

Jimmy Spencer also filled in the wide role
Cureton however does not play a wide role

In the latest interview with Yates it sounds like Cureton may still sign for us depending on the other striker we have spoken too.

Good good, hopefully his replacement won't get caught offside 15 times a match.

Guaranteed to score against us, of course.

Phew......... bit of a result that,we cant afford to have players here topping up there pension working part time and probably not playing much.

CUreton will be very hard to replace in terms of his touch, movement, finishing and desire.

I know the person who got his home kit and there wasnt a mark on it
I think once again CTFC has been used as a bargaining tool by a player

Fine by me. I`ll take a younger, hungrier, rawer player - e.g. Rakish Bingham - over a 38 year old whom we couldnt get the best out of last season.

Thank you D&R.
Yates can't have been too keen otherwise he wouldn't have released him and if he had wanted him that much this summer he'd have offered Cureton more

Remember the games last season when yatesy played cureton as a lone striker & pumped high balls to him.Towards the end of season yatesy actually spotted that cureton might well be the "little" in a little & large combo with harrison (yatesys always quick to spot things!).So if the daggers manager is a bit more clued up,he'll use curo with a target man.Given some decent service i would,nt bet againist curo getting 15-20 goals this season.

I didn't see MY pump any long balls to Cureton, who had enough fairly simple chances (by his standards) to score at least another 6 or 7 last season.

You didn't see all the long balls last season Shade? While Yates didn't physically kick the ball he gave the team instructions week in week out so safe to assume those were his tactics.

Players let him down. We've all had this discussion/argument many times and nobody produces anything that changes anybody's minds. What happened to wiping the slate clean?

There were definitely times from Yates' reaction to a hoof from Sido or Richards that he was just as frustrated and annoyed by the choice of pass as fans were.
