Apparently no movement in or out today, must say I am a little concerned with no back-up keeper and only two permanent strikers.

At least the lack of movement means we will have two rather than one permanent striker.

Still madness to only have two strikers in a squad, we need at least three permanent then perhaps one cover youngster/loanee.

Free agents / youth loans
Loan window opens next week
perhaps we should be looking to extend the managers contract as well!

From an excitement point of view it would have been nice, but I can't see any MAJOR needs.

I'm assuming the keeper is a free agent, playing at Seasons on Wednesday v Swindon.

I know you are at least partially joking but there is no way Yates or even North should be given a new deal until at least Christmas when we have a clear picture of how the season is heading.

If true then we need to sign him today 51/84 otherwise he is gone by mid-October at the latest.

I think you can extend the loan to 93 days in total which would take him to end of Nov the following week would be an FA cup match and the new window would open beginning of Jan. Perhaps they would not want him cup tied
Having listened to his interview I didnt get the felling he wanted it as a permanent move but may a loan until jan would suit all

Didn't realise Marquis was so short-term. Hopefully we can extend that!

Can we see a bit more of Marquis other than a decent 20-minute cameo before we get too carried away...? I was one of the guys at FGR a decade or more ago singing "sign him on, sign him on, sign him on..." when some guy called Spencer looked pretty good in a pre-season trial.

Bobby Dale isn't ready for league two yet and Harry Williams is a central midfielder though Horlick:-)

Our strongest weapon is Koby Arthur, sticking him up top for the last 25 mins / half an hour of games when players' legs are tiring is deadly. Credit to MY

Any players we might have an interest in will either already be a free agent or after tonight will have been freed by their current clubs.

There's no panic yet Carson wasn't selected in the Northern Ireland squad so the back up keeper can wait another few weeks and save on a few weeks wages.

Don't think we needed to do any more business. Got it done before deadline day allowing for a relaxing day.

You mean like signing the back-up keeper and nailing down a third striker Peter :o

I disagree that Bobby Dale is not ready Robin- looks good enough as cover to me.Harry Williams scores by the bucket and can be played off a centre forward. If we revert to the one up front thing he could be the man. When a teams short is when you can be surprised.Put your self in Dale and Williams shoes. They have eight months to make an impression here and will run their socks off given the chance.

Harrison
Marquis
Gornell
Arthur (I'd put him as a striker now)

Is that not enough? Marquis does well we can extend his loan, if not we can dip into the loan market again.

On the score sheet vs Oxford. That's good enough for any CTFC player to have a contract extension.

Marquis looks a decent league two striker but he will be gone in November if he stays that long. Gornell has no goal threat and Byron has not excelled this year, only Arthur is doing the business and it's clear he prefers to play on the wing or in a free role rather than as a striker.

On his performances tonight and from what I hear of last Saturday, I'm hoping Marquis' loan could be extended until January or beyond if it suits both parties.
He was a real handful for the Oxford defenders tonight, good on the ball and strong

We can't Exile that would have needed to have happened yesterday all we can do is extend his short term loan through to November.

By the way why wasn't Wynter in the squad tonight are Bristol City refusing to let him play? If so, that may indicate his chances of joining permanently are lower than speculated.

Terry just needs to get one and he'll start putting them away more regularly. True, he can't buy a goal at the moment but not for the want of trying. He had 3 or 4 decent efforts (and one not so decent) on Saturday including one against the post and set up Koby's goal tonight with a lovely chipped cross - he's doing fine. Especially for knackering out defences if he starts.

Saying he's got no goal threat when he's making defenders make tackles and making keepers make saves and getting assists is harsh. He's ten times the goal threat of a Paul Connor, for example.
