Thursday/Friday not looking very dry, nor Saturday to be fair.
What are you thinking, Mal? Time to cancel my hotel or hang fire for a bit?

Thanks for the update, I will keep my booking then .
Should be dry Saturday but very wet leading up to the weekend.
Big concern for me is the Cheltenham V Welling fixture on the 13/02 - jet stream will be right on top of us with a number of low pressure areas lining up to give our region a lot of wet weather.

'My latest weather model data' - So you've looked at the BBC weather and the Met office websites then?Malabus wrote:My latest weather model data (17:00) indicates it will be raining Thurs/Fri but nothing of great concern. But weather changes especially on the coast.
'weather changes especially on the coast' - No! Really? Blimey, you learn something new every day.....

I assume based on his other footy posts that Mal gets his forecasts from the Express - no wonder his predictions change so much from day to day.Judge_Dreddful wrote:'My latest weather model data' - So you've looked at the BBC weather and the Met office websites then?Malabus wrote:My latest weather model data (17:00) indicates it will be raining Thurs/Fri but nothing of great concern. I am on a quick trip back from Turkey and I will be heading to Barrow on Saturday with some mates to swell the away ranks by four! Hope we can take more than a hundred, but more importantly hope we win!

After viewing my own set of data (BBC!) I am in agreement with Mal and RCS: GAME ON !
Edit: Although saying that, the other data set (Metcheck) doesn't look so promising (Friday night in particular).
Hopefully we are given plenty of prior warning if the game is in doubt as the last thing me or my mate (or anyone else heading there for that matter) wants to be doing is heading to Barrow then turning around again to go home because the game has been called off.

As I clearly forecasted earlier in the week; it will be wet leading up to the game, especially tomorrow which could see localised flooding in Cumbria. If the game was to be called off it would be Friday evening/Very early Saturday.

Weather irrelevant for me now, mate has pulled out leaving me stranded in Stroud.
I did predict a few weeks ago that I would be prevented from attending due to some reason....always happens!

Plenty of standing water in Barrow park this morning. A wonderful large Victorian park. Multiple levels and landscaping. But very wet and cold. Obviously no indication of what the ground is like of course but if the game is on it will be a grim experience for all involved unless the weather clears up.

Official Barrow AFC update at 09:15 says pitch fine and no planned inspection. Depends on the severity of the rain this morning. Seems to be easing and wad dry over night. Hands going numb with cold writing this.

Note to self: don't spend 45 mins in Barrow Park in wind and rain using phone with bare hands

Looking at those photos I do wonder why we don't lay 3G artificial pitch along the touch line for the lineman like a lot of clubs do.

But satellites would be in space Mal. Mankind has yet to venture forth from this planet. It's all done in a film studio. ApparentlyMalabus wrote:Amateurs .... Leave the experts to look at the models beamed back from our high spec satellites.
But I bet from your bathroom window, one could get a horrible view of Uranus

Then you've not seen this Mal: http://www.space.com/14874-apollo-11-la ... photo.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ???Malabus wrote:

I knew a guy at my former place of work [ahem] who was at Jodrell Bank when Neil Armstrong went to the moon. He said there was no way that the radio signal could have been coming from anywhere other than the surface of the moon so any claims to the contrary are from folk who are idiots and clueless and have no idea what they're talking about.
That looks really clear.Reliant Robin wrote:Then you've not seen this Mal: http://www.space.com/14874-apollo-11-la ... photo.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ???Malabus wrote:
