I stayed at a small farmhouse B&B near Guiseley/Bradford a few years ago.
While there I was told that it was used as temporary accommodation for new players signed by Bradford City until they had settled in permanent accommodation.
Whether that attracted Bobby Gould and his wife to stay there at a time when he was manager of Wales I know not.
Anyway the husband and wife B&B hosts said that they were a lovely couple.
One day the kitchen had electrical problems and the meals were late with dirty plates stacking up on the tables.
The hosts looked around and found that Mrs Gould had gone around collecting the dirty plates and her husband, the Manager of Wales, was stacking the dishwasher.
On hearing that story my opinion of the guy went up enormously, a real down to earth guy.

You can read BG's account of his time as Wales manager on the XtraTime website.

I saw Bobby at a Bishops Cleeve v CTFC game a couple of seasons back when his grandson was on the playing staff. We had a good chat and he is a really nice guy, still lives down Bristol way and still loves watching football at any opportunity. Happy (belated) birthday Bobby.
