Joke. The rules are incongruous. To make a point, my team would be:
Kitscha
Lymn
Parslow
Bower
Jennings
Barthram
Whitehead
Rowe
Morgan-Smith
Arthur

Absolute joke. Just as nonsensical as the Woking Trophy debacle last season.
I hope GJ boycotts the competition and just sends Russell and the youth team up to make a point.

It was a Sincil ly thing to do, but the Imp udent yellow-belly was laying on top of him & Stoz reacted on the spur of the moment - he's apologised but is still being punished. It's not fair.darreno wrote:Sorry folks, but the committed a heinous error of judgment and must take his punishment. Mo defence for what he did.

And he was taking his 8 game punishment with no complaint. It is the late alteration to the rules and the lengthening of the ban which is farcical.darreno wrote:Sorry folks, but the committed a heinous error of judgment and must take his punishment. Mo defence for what he did.
I would play Storer in the Trophy game. If they kick us out of the competition: good.
Nonsensical Tinpot Trophy rules on the hoof had potential to disrupt us last season. And again this season. As Mal says, any excuse to try and screw CTFC over.

That is what we are so frustrated by. They it doesn't count as one of the eight games, yet also say he cannot play. So he is being banned for nine games.dedwardp wrote:If his ban doesn't count in this particular fixture and therefore use up a suspended game, then surely that means he is eligible to play?
A shambles, just for the sake of keeping bigger clubs' U21 sides happy.
Says who though? An eight game ban is an eight game ban, surely it can't just be extended to a ninth game at the last minute?
Hartlepool seem to think their suspension doesn't count on Tuesday night: http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/ ... _game_ban/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
There's clearly only one rule though, so which is it?

Say the authorities according to the Echo article in the first post.
"The match was originally thought to be the eighth and final game of Storer's suspension, but a bizarre twist in the rules means it's not counted as a first team fixture by the FA.
When the Trophy was expanded to allow Premier League Academy teams in for this year, the 16 invited clubs insisted that it be regarded as a reserve team competition.
The big boys didn't want to run the risk of having young players pick up suspensions in the competition so insisted games were not regarded fist team fixtures and the FA agreed.
The Robins originally thought (and the Echo understands were told) that Storer would therefore be free to play in the Blackpool game, only for the authorities to then perform an immediate u-turn.
But under the terms of his suspension he is unable to play until the Robins have played eight first team games.
And because the FA don't regard the Checkatrade Trophy as a first team competition, it means Tuesday's game doesn't count against the ban and means that Storer is now unavailable for Saturday's League Two game at Plymouth Argyle."

5 or 6 players. That's correct.Red Duke wrote:Isn't there a rule in this competition that a certain numbers of players (I think it is six) that played on Saturday must be in the starting XI?
So if it is not a first team fixture, does this rule no longer apply?

The EFL would not get very good reviews on Checkatrade.

From the EFL rules:
"Each EFL Club shall play its full available strength in and during all Matches. The League will from time to time issue a policy as to what constitutes 'full available strength'. Any Club failing to meet this requirement will be required to pay a fine of up to £5,000."
http://www.efl.com/global/trophyrules.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Harsh and inconsistent rules for the majority of small clubs who face punishment. Other rules changed at the request of/for the benefit of the minority of large clubs, disregarding evidence and common sense. That is how the economy and society works in feudal/oligarch Britain so we should not expect football to be any different.

Reading this:

It states "Any EFL or Premier League player who is serving a ban or is set to serve a suspension for a yellow or red card offence will be eligible to play in this week’s opening group games in the Checkatrade Trophy".
So according to that Kyle Storer can play at Blackpool.
