Looking a bit 'touch 'n go' on the old weather front.

Forgive my ignorance, but does anyone know if we have frost covers? That would surely ensure game on if the overnight temperatures are accurate.

Have answered my own question. As a result, I will be extremely annoyed if they aren't used and the game is called off.

Where's Malabus when we need him? If it's a "Biblical" frost, I can't believe Mal's missed out on this scoop
That aside, we could really do with this match being on, as Plymouth had a tough TV Cup game in the week and one days less recovery than ourselves, so a great opportunity for us to capitalise.

I thought the 500 club bought frost covers for the away end goal a few years back but it does not cover the whole pitch. Quite pleasant weather today and with the Plymouth fans having to travel a long way they will need to make a decision early tomorrow.

"Whilst in 2006, the 500 Club had already purchased a set of frost covers (see the article here) for the pitch some time ago to help ensure that the FA cup 3rd round tie against Newcastle took place, these were not full pitch sized covers and were only enough to cover the end that suffered the most from the frost (the Carlsberg Stand end).Robin wrote:I thought the 500 club bought frost covers for the away end goal a few years back but it does not cover the whole pitch. As such, the “Raise the Ground” 500 Club decided that they would like to be in the position to considerably assist with or even fully purchase the frost covers for Cheltenham Town Football Club.
Before the start of the season, Steve Smith managed to contact a company that could provide the club with such Frost Sheets and also he was able to negotiate a substantial discount with this company – we would therefore be grateful if you would take a few moments to visit the site advertised at the bottom of the article as it was them that enabled us to purchase the Frost Sheets at a discount."
It seems the frost covers now owned by the club cover the whole pitch.

Anytime late afternoon/early evening tonight then should suffice.

-5 degrees is their limit I believe. Any colder and the frost gets in.

I take this means we no longer have to avail of the generosity of the racecourse

Can't remember a League game where we haven't sold out at Cheltenham.Robin wrote:Have we given them just the away end or also a slot of the In2Print? If they have sold out 1000 away seats that's a cracking effort.
I can remember plenty! Don't get me wrong you've had a couple of cracking turn outs including 1300 on a Tuesday night for our first ever game but equally I can remember you bringing 500-600 on a fair few occasions. Still fantastic support given the distance mind.
Ps and we've still brought the biggest away following of 1800 back in 2002-D

I can only remember the more recent games to be fair! Just know this will be my first visit as I've always either struggled to get a ticket or not been able to afford it.
No idea what to expect today in terms of the match. We've kept Liverpool relatively quiet in two games (in that they didn't really create many clear cut chances), but Stevenage created a lot against us last weekend. Barnet a couple of weeks before was even worse. If you're any good from set pieces you'll probably nick it.

Game on - hopefully, Frost covers on over night, but pitch inspection 12:30 today just to check frost impact on pitch. It should be on and if so it will be a cracker of a game.
We are not good from set pieces generally our game is more pass along the floor although our pitch is shocking this year. I'm sure the 1000 away fans would have left by now but I'd say the game was no better than 60/40 to be on having seen the weather up here.
