I have taken a rare look at the top of L2 in advance of tomorrow`s fixtures.
Luton are currently fifth with a game in hand and six points behind Pompey who are third.
If they win tomorrow then they will overtake Stevenage and be three points behind Pompey with eight games to play. They still have realistic automatic promotion prospects so hopefully they will do us a big favour and beat Newport and keep them seven points plus an inferior goal difference behind us.
Accrington are also away at Morecambe. If Morecambe win then they are realistically safe with potentially nothing to play for when we play them in a couple of weeks. They may be "on the beach" in both senses of the phrase when we meet at Whaddon Road.
