Was the third lowest in L2 according to data published in The Times today.
Only Crawley (2,352) and Morecambe (1,189) were lower than our 2,718.
(And yet it was still impossible to buy a soft drink at half time as only one canteen in the CF was open)
Saturday's low attendance

Sadly, we only have a hard-core fan base c2,000. Anything over that is results dependent. Then at c3,800 come the glory hunters, with attendances dependent on decent cup runs or a play off push - or games such as a FGR derby.
This is a shame because the level of football being played by our current squad deserves better support. The Club needs a quick tonic. Making Whaddon Road into a fortress with quality play and plenty of CTFC goals will bring people back, with the right publicity. It is quality play on the field the fans yearn for over special ticket offers -- although those do help. Signs are promising, and one is most hopeful we can deliver and get the support back through the turnstiles.

Attendances always fluctuate based on results. With not scoring for a few games we didn't look like an exciting team to go and watch, give it a few decent results and im sure the attendance will go up again.
However we are at a disadvantage in terms of we aren't really a big club anyway, does anyone know what our attendances were in 2012/2013 when we had the play-off runs?

5 of the 7 teams with a lower average crowd than us were playing away. So perhaps a bit misleading.
However, that does not explain why the op could not get a soft drink.
