Get on Oldham and Stevenage to battle it out for relegation.

That...is slightly bizarre.

This last quote on the BBC article tells you what it's like at Oldham
"Banide's exit means that Lee Johnson in 2013-14 remains the last manager to start and finish the season in charge of the Latics."

I think he'll keep Oldham up with his direct, in your face style of football which presumably is what they want but more likely they'll sack him end of December and get relegated as the board up there appear pretty clueless.

Could you possibly contradict yourself any more, in one sentence?

Not sure I am contradicting myself at all. I said I feel he will keep them up with his style of football but more likely the board will sack him and they'll end up relegated.

I am guessing he read your post as saying “I think he will keep them up but they will get relegated”, which is more simplistic and not what you were saying.

I know what you mean and agree with the nuance of your argument. Unfortunately Ihearye does not have much grasp of nuance!

He will keep them up but they'll likely sack him by December is contradictory.

He could keep them up if he is given the full season, but I think they'll sack him by December would not be contradictory.

Yes,a lot of thought obviously went into this appointment.

Stroke of luck that our board of directors didn't act in haste and give Russ the job.:-)
