Remember Crewe went on an amazing run ending up beating us in the play-off final .

I think that's a bit unfair - we've been mentioned on there quite a lot over the past 18 months or so.

Yeah. It is because we are consistent feature at the top of the table.

Most weeks he rightly has nothing more to say than “Cheltenham are still in the top five as they have been for the last two seasons”...we are not there unexpectedly, and have not suddenly charged up the table, so little reason to give us a special mention.

Now we are in the business end of the season and the top four/five wheat will become increasingly sorted from the play off chasing chaff then expect us to get more of a mention.

These shows are all about finding a story or something dramatic to mention, and until it gets to the end of the season a story which is “consistent top team keeps being consistently near the top” is not compelling compared to unbelievable turn around runs or over-performing minnows.

This week was a case in point. The studio analysis amounted to “after last season they don’t want to fall in to the play offs again this time”...the working assumption is we will be in the final shake-up, so less of a dramatic narrative than the teams battling and fighting in the free for all to get in the play offs.

1/4 now to be promoted. That must be the shortest we have been during an EFL season?

Another win, another shortening. 1/5 to be promoted now.

Be interesting to see whether they stop taking bets before we get to the end of the countdown.

Title odds starting to spread out now.

Chelt: 11/10
FGR: 4/1
Tranmere: 11/2
Cambridge, Bolton: 8/1.

8/1 for the team second in the league is incredible. I know they have played a game or two more but even so.

Don't think Bradford will do it, personally. I think whoever misses out on automatic from the current top 4 will recover to win the play offs this year, for a change. Which will be Tranmere in my opinion. I think it's a three way scrap between us, Cambridge and Bolton for top spot but we'll all go up.

I think you will be proven right. I could see Morecambe beating Tranmere over two legs, but with them likely to finishing 4th and 5th that cannot happen. I can also see Bradford, Exeter or Orient etc beating Morecambe over two legs.

At 15/1 for Bradford, seems decent value. I was contemplating 3/1 at fgr finishing outside top 7 but think they'll just scrape in with the amount of games left.

There's been some strange odds given at the tail end of the season. It wasnt that long ago that according to the bookies Bolton were total outsiders and Carlisle were shoe ins for at least playoffs

Carlisle are ahead of Bradford on goal difference after their win yesterday, so could do it.

That battle for 6th and 7th is hellish. I am relieved we are not in it.

Must be no bigger than 4/6 for the title now, maybe even as low as 1/2.

Waiting for the bookies to update now.

7/5 for the title now, I just checked. Still going to be some twists and turns in the remaining games but if we win next week I feel we are on the verge of sealing promotion (as other teams won't take maximum points from their games either). Tranmere vs Salford and Crawley vs CTFC could have a huge say in how the table ends.

I think those are outdated odds.

Give it another half hour or so and the true odds will be on Oddschecker.

4/11 for the title and 1/50 to be promoted.

Bookies think we are home and dry.

Is it a 'thing' that you can speak to bookies and get odds on specifics that they are not giving prices for?

I wonder what odds I'd have got on 3rd March on us securing promotion on 27th April? Makes the Leicester city premier league winners bet seem like small fry. I think the LCFC one was 5,000-1, so I reckon mine would've been 25,000-1 or so.

I would cash out now. Beginning to think it may be sooner

Yes you certainly can. They may not always offer you odds but it's certainly something that you can do.

Just speak to customer services and ask them to see if a trader will give you a price for whatever it is you are looking for (too late in this instance, I know).

I believe their are online bookies that offer a "make your bet" service as well.

I want to bet that Ben3 correctly predicts the date of our promotion in the 2023-24 season.

SkyBet offering 1/66 on Cambridge to be promoted. No bets for CTFC promotion being taken.

If you had faith in the team you would have took 20/1 at the start of the season.
