What is that awful music that is played just before the players walk out? Think we play it every week and I remember the Exeter game and it was deafening!

Alfie's chasing pays off. Vale are there for the taking now we have started passing it about. We need goals.

Get in! 2-0. Scotty's having a nightmare

Is Devante Rodney playing, perchance? Devante Rodney might get a few full name mentions if Devante Rodney is playing. Devante Rodney.

Ah I'm not sure then. I'll rewind at half time if I remember.

Don't know why Matthews keeps saying Port Vale started well, it was head tennis for the first ten minutes.

Or why he keeps calling them "the Vale".

Vale were definitely the better team in the first 10

Sorry. You'll hear it every time now. Most players he only calls by a surname during a move but every single time bar one he has had to get "Devante" squeezed in. It's exotic.

Don't think Devante Rodney has touched the ball for 15 mins now...until then, twice in 7...thrice in 14 seconds.

Long>Boyle? His passing is certainly better...and we have gone nearly 3.5 games without conceding...

Long is better with his feet, definitely.

A good half. Could have been more. Ours to lose now. Scores elsewhere mixed so far.

Could be 4 at half time. Let's hope we keep making chances in the second half rather than shutting up because we could do with improving our goal difference and we might not get too many better opportunities than this.

I wish we would stop fannying about with short free kicks and corners. I think we have messed every single one up.

Matthews has appeared to sever the previously inseverable name of Port Vale's forward this half.

Big few minutes this. If we win, panic over and we will learn a lesson without damage. If we don't, it's a huge loss of points.

Taking May and Smith off has totally upset the rhythm that we had. When a team is buzzing it’s sometimes best to leave things alone. And now we have a nail biting seven minutes of added time.

The two goals are entirely self-inflicted. Can't blame Duff for making changes. We have simply switched off. It is a sharp reminder of the perils of doing so.

Jesus, that ended up being way, way too close for comfort. Not the stuff of champions...or maybe still winning was?
