Well look at that, I have managed to preserve my child's innocence without the governments help. How did I ever manage

Lol Baggy - I was wondering who would be the first to try that one. Fortunately policy is based on what is best for society at large, not on whether Baggy knows whether his kids watch porn or not.

Think about it - one could also say "I have never murdered or stolen from someone so why make it illegal and bother with a police force" or "I have never had a car accident so what's the point of insurance".

Latest evidence, not from a middle aged conservative but from teenagers themselves reported by a progressive think tank.

Some depressing stats in there. A situation which will only get worse if a blind eye is turned as some on here would like.

"Internet pornography is having a damaging impact on young people's views about sex and puts pressure on girls to look and act a certain way, according to a poll of 500 British teenagers.

Eight out of 10 18-year-olds surveyed by the thinktank IPPR felt it was too easy to accidentally view explicit images while surfing the internet, while 72% said pornography led to unrealistic views about sex"

The legacy of people like Joey allowing/encouraging children easy access to illegal content:

A survey for the counselling service Child Line suggests that one in ten children aged between 10 and 13 are worried they are addicted to porn.

Addiction psychotherapist Steve Pope spoke on BBC Radio Five Live on Tuesday and said in the last 24 hours he had been “amazed” by a discussion with one of his young clients.

“What we are moving into is long-term effects of what they think is normal behaviour. It is probably one of the fastest growing areas of addiction and threats to our society known to Western culture.”

Time to restrict and licence access - block porn by default and if you are the over-18 account holder you can opt in to access everything online the same way you can go to a bookies or a bar.
