Checkatrade Trophy. How seriously are we taking it?

Of course. I wasn't suggesting the players dress up as clowns but when clubs have limited squads do they put out their best teams in comps like this, risking injuries to key players, or do we think about our committment to div 2? Teams such as Bolton and Everton have players to spare for a comp like this, which I don't think we have.

The EFL should have told the FA and Prem teams to do one.
The farce and shambles surrounding the rules means we should not take this seriously.

Think PB might disagree as there is £10000, for each group win or a miserly £5000 for a draw.RegencyCheltenhamSpa wrote:The EFL should have told the FA and Prem teams to do one.

Two wins and a draw would be a very handy £25K.
I expect something like the below, with Dickie not being risked (unless we rest O'Shaughnessy instead). Expecting Pell, Waters and Wright all to be given a rest.
Kitscha
Barthram
Parslow
O'Shaughnessy
Jennings (if fit)
Hall
Whitehead
Rowe
Smith
Morgan Smith

It doesn't look like the Wimbledon fans are taking it too seriously.
Attendance 461. They would normally get ten times that.
BBC report says that in beating Swansea U21 they 'took a premiership scalp'.
This is a competition too far in my view and seems to be a way of gaining acceptance
for the introduction of premier league reserve teams into meaningful competitions.
I won't be wasting any of my money on it
