Nice that we are finally getting things done and also encouraging about the prem midfielder. Just need another centre half now.

Assume this means none of the trialists are being retained then.

Plus a midfielder coming on loan from a Prem club.

If it happened to be Jacob Maddox I imagine opinions would be divided.

I'd take Maddox back for sure, at the moment we have nobody who can dribble the ball and create space for others.

Regarding Reilly it seems most of his goals came in the Scottish Championship which is largely conference standard. His stats look good though so hopefully he can cut it in league two.

4 in 16 at League 1 level, so you'd hope he'd be a 1 in 2 striker in League 2 but I'd imagine he's generally going to be third-choice at best after Reg and Tahv.

Interesting so he is coming here for regular football yet we are expecting him to be cover competition for Reg and Campbell.

There are a lot of matches in the first two months so there will be chances for everyone.
We can't expect Varney to play Saturday, Tuesday,Saturday....

With a bit of luck he'll bang them in and not be cover! Rovers manager sounds a little bitter that the lad wants to go out on loan instead of fighting for a place there.

If Gav does as well as the last St mirren player we will be more than happy

Squad fillers but what can you expect at this stage of the season. Trust in Duffo, so here's hoping they produce.

All three loans look like calculated gambles which is almost always going to be the way in the loan market now.
