First domino to fall?

Talk about other football teams at all levels. AND ANY Glos City related threads, even if talking about the groundsharing.

Whilst on the pitch they have been in roaring form and are almost safe, it is a sorry tale off the pitch for Wigan Athletic.

They have entered administration. A points deduction could send them down.

Plenty of shenanigans going on at Wigan. They were only taken over by new owners recently after the league had already been suspended.

“Wigan Athletic have become the first professional club in England to fall into administration during the Covid-19 crisis, only four weeks after a Hong Kong-based consortium took over the Championship club, promising to secure its future.”

DW agreed the takeover, yet again a small club always spending above their limits, only a matter of time before this happened.

DW agreed the original takeover. The people who bought it from DW sold the club on again four weeks ago?

Just strange that a man that loves that club agreed to sell to a group that has had no experience is running a football club in the championship, very strange.

People will pipe up on the fit and proper test bandwagon but at the moment all they have to prove is that they aren't criminals and they have money to make the purchase, they can't read the minds of the prospective new owners and what they are going to do four weeks after the purchase. Personally DW has a few questions to answer on this.

I guess DW is a businessman first and foremost. He probably sold Wigan at the right time in a purely business sense, same as he did JJB.

Brutal expose of the recent dealings:

Turns out the new owners who spent £45m on the club they had for seven days before going in to administration might be linked to a big bet recently made in the Philippines on Wigan to be relegated.
