Good win - another three points. A shame about the two goals but hopefully we will learn the lessons from that.

Maybe a lesson for Duff...stagger the two striker substitutions next time rather than the double swap?

I think so. I would imagine there will be a lot of shouting in the dressing room from the players. Ultimately, that win was as good as if we were 2-0 down and came back to win 3-2 - it is three points.
We deserved to win, Port Vale were hopeless. We gifted a way back for them but even in injury time, we didn't look like conceding again.

May and Smith’s energy up front give opposition defenders a lot to do and make it difficult for them to win the ball get it forward. It’s also difficult for subs to come on late and immediately take up the pace of the game. We’ve been caught like that before with late goals this season.Hubert Parry wrote:The two goals are entirely self-inflicted. Can't blame Duff for making changes. We have simply switched off. It is a sharp reminder of the perils of doing so.
Doesn’t take away the fact that it was a good performance and a nail biting finish. I think we’d all have been happy with 3-2 at the start of the game
The most annoying thing about those 2 goals conceded, for me anyway, is that we were level with Salford as the highest defence before they went in, and we have now conceded more than we did last season, before it was ended, having played 5 less games. We had looked as if we were going to give it a good go at getting very close to it again, with how much we had tightened up.

What was Brown doing for the 1st goal? lol
Also not sure how Alfie wasn't given the second goal

In his post match interview (available on iFollow app) Alfie is claiming Brown’s backside was on or behind the line so the ball would have gone in.Si Robin wrote:Alfie hit the bar - it then bounced back and hit Brown before going in. If Brown wasn't there it wouldn't have gone in, ergo it's an own goal.

I agree with Alfie .Scotty was rooted to the line.
Although he doesn`t score many we missed George Lloyd`s constant energy in the latter stages, he does get in peoples faces.Alf wrote:Taking May and Smith off has totally upset the rhythm that we had. When a team is buzzing it’s sometimes best to leave things alone. And now we have a nail biting seven minutes of added time.

He’s about a yard off it. The ball was going out not in

So he was taken off on a hat trick after all! He will just have to score 3 tomorrow instead.
