Thank God we dismissed those derisory offers. What a performance today, especially second half in defence and of course in attack.
I said we needed £1m minimum in the summer. It’s £3m now in January if anyone wants to even start a conversation.

Great ball playing from the back and I am sure he is getting faster as well.

He will leave one day but it will be for a top ten Championship side at least. That is how good he is already, let alone after a season or few in L1 with Duff.Shade wrote:Anyone top end L1 or lower Championship who needs a fairly solid defender that can get goals would be mad not to come in for him. But I hope they don't.

I've said it before but WB is attractive partly because he is left footed. Teams that like to play out from the back will need a left footed centre back and they are pretty rare.
He is getting better every season too. I think we will see him leave in January if not this month I'm afraid as there is little prospect of him signing a new contract.

I will kid myself into thinking he will sign a 3-year contract just to ensure we get a bigger fee.
I think we need to get him and a couple of others tied down with the remainder of the budget (other than bringing in another forward). Put in a release clause for championship sides (maybe £400,000 or something fair).Hubert Parry wrote:I've said it before but WB is attractive partly because he is left footed. £400,000? Talk about little old Cheltenham.
Release clauses by their purpose have to be set at a level which does not allow him to go cheaply, and usually higher than opening negotiation values.
£3.5m for automatic release.
£3m to get a seat at the negotiating table.

Shameful if they do.Robin wrote:If a club offered us £300,000 I have no doubt this existing board would snatch their hands off RCS.
