What an absolutely cracking game! Arsenal giving a world class lesson in game-management and how to defend when down to 10 men against probably the best attacking unit in European football.

...and just as I type that, City equalise!

Brilliant match!

Can’t work out why Haaland wasn’t booked at the end for the barge though?

I can't figure out why the city player in the first half wasn't booked for kicking the ball 20-30 yards away when Arsenal had a free kick, when Rice got a second yellow for tapping it 2 yards a few weeks ago.

The City player kicked it back to where the referee told him to. Then Arsenal still took the free-kick from inside the opposition half.

The meltdown from the Goons is glorious though - nearly as funny as people calling for Flynn's head because we dared to only draw away at Chesterfield.

For the same reason Busquets got away with continuous fouling at Barca but as soon as he or a teammate got tackled it was a free-kick. Pep.

Pep’s sides have always been dirty and hypocritical. Moaning that referees needed to protect his Barca players who would then go out and foul and dive all game. Same at City.

Incredible he has the gall to come out post match and say what he did.

Let's be honest though - Arteta is just a Pep disciple so is really just as bad.

As fun as the meltdown from the Goons has been though, I have to concede that I really can't stand Erling Haaland. Bloke's a bully. Gives it left, right and centre but you can guarantee he'll be crying if a big defender dares to square up to him.

Gary Neville: "Arsenal are using a certain tactic - and that tactic ends in the word 'housery'"

Thing is, Haaland is bigger and stronger than most defenders, I doubt many actually *could* square up to him with any effect. He's the football equivalent of Jonah Lomu and the majority of defenders cack their pants like Mike Catt when he's running at them at full tilt.

Fair point. The irony wasn't lost on me though when one of the most arrogant pricks in the game was telling Arteta to "stay humble".

I mean, Arteta is arrogant as well, but coming from Haaland...

It all depends whether you're doing the housery, or it's being done to you. Remember the halcyon days of Wade's Shithouse Reds when we went to places like Ipswich and used every trick in the book to waste time (mysterious Luke Southwood injuries anyone?) disrupt the game and absolutely enrage the locals?

And we all bloody loved it, didn't we?

No, actually... Luke Southwood's antics were bordering on the ridiculous and embarrassing at times.

Personally, I think players should be required to leave the pitch for treatment if the incident is not a foul or a head injury. If they do not, well they might risk playing the opposition onside, which is tough. I recall Mbappe getting fouled on the wing and ending up off the pitch and somehow having the strength and determination to drag...himself...back...onto...the...pitch before writhing in agony, seemingly crippled for life.

Or maybe allow on-field treatment during play like they do in rugby?
