Let this pathetic and evil Labour government know your displeasure. Thank you.

Well, I'd like another vote on the merits of leaving the EU after the Leave campaign lied about the benefits and how easy it would be - but that ain't gonna happen, neither.

For what it's worth, i think the current government's only endearing feature so far is that they're not the previous government. Beyond that, there's been little change beyond the rising taxes (which was inevitable, unfortunately - it was always just a case of where it would hit...)

I'd prefer the last lot again over this lot. They're doing irreparable harm to the country, and it was close enough to being f#!$ before. Obviously there won't be another GE any time soon but anything that is done to try to keep Starmer even the a tiny bit honest is worth it.
In football terms, it's like replacing Steve Bruce with Steve Evans. But without any of the success.

The people have spoken and voted in this government, like Brexit! The Will of the People.

Anyway Mal, how's that (post Southport murders) Revolution going for you?

;)

And now the will of a great number of people has changed/is changing. Who wrote the rules and why must they be abided if they're contributing towards the harm of the people that government is supposed to serve? And, once again, only 20% of the country voted for them. The other 80% didn't have any better options or voted for someone else - it doesn't mean they should now stay quiet and put up with nonsense for 5 years.

Yeah yeah, that's not how democracy works...well, this so called democracy doesn't appear to be working very well.

Interestingly, that argument was used, and rebuffed, when the question of a second Brexit vote was brought up.

The Tories brought in the 5 year fixed term and Labour are entitled to use every year of it.

I don't like this government, I hated the Tory one a lot more, but these are the rules we live under, so tough titties as my old man used to say.

Sounds more like you're saying put up and shut up, which is a bit communist of you... Especially "these are the rules we live under." Jesus, comrade!

Part of the problem is we don't even know the rules we live under. Child rapists and porn hoarders get community service and people posting what turn out to be facts online get a couple of years in prison.

We do know the rules if we know where to look for them - sentencing guidelines are visible for all to see.

I'm not going to get into specific things - suffice to say I think child rapists and porn hoarders should get long sentences - but ignorance of the rules, or choosing not to find them, is not the same as not knowing them.

How can this man look into the eyes of the British people.

Plenty of money for unions; foreign invaders and Syria.

I detest him to the core.

To me the line is crossed when a standing prime minister goes live on air to tell the nation and therefore the judges thay he expects the sentencing to be quick and nearer the maximum sentencing.
You would have to be a fool to sit back and look and the sentences past within days of the PM statement and believe there us no connection.
I believe if the govt think any of other sentences passed out are too lenient, they can intervene. Which doesn't seem to be happening much.
I am by and large not aligned to any party in england, but find the current government has picked on easy targets for very small monetary gain. Be that OAP, Waspi, rural communities. They have shown themselves to be well below the intellect and skill to run a country. Especially as they have had 14 years to prepare for it. I have no doubt there is more that will come out about what was immediately known about the tragedy, that will notvrrflect well on the govt or the way it went after people in the following days.
I wouldnt trust any of them to go to the shops for me
