The walsall match is Tuesday 25 Nov

The walsall match was a 12.30KO for TV will sky show the rearranged match

I hope it's not 25th Nov, or we've missed it.

It will be on Sky Sports Plus though as it was initially picked for it. I don't think the Wimbledon one will be though - but then I didn't think Harrogate would be either, so probably take what I say with a pinch of salt :D .

Am sure there is some rule, but was saying last week how it would be great if we could avoid home matches on race days e.g. this weekend. It must impact gates

For the benefit of Robin - you have probably seen something about the races on buses etc. There is a horse racing track on the Evesham Road.

Yes, it would ,but overall we do pretty well as I think we always have a home fixture on Boxing Day which is probably the most coveted day of the season to have one because of the New Year race meeting.
Do the police always have the final say by deciding that they don't have the resources to cover both?

I understand it's always "on police advice".

 if we planned our lives around police availability / desire, to respond, we would be in a bad place

When the league put together the fixture lists, clubs can identify particular dates they can’t accomodate at home - usually for big local events that put a strain on local resources and policing.

For is, I think it’s NYD racing, The Festival and the November Open. We do not have home games on any of those dates. Or, indeed, when FGR are at home.

Think you will find March 11 is a festival date.
I would have thought to maximise attendance, we should avoid all race days

That's why we're not playing at home on March 11th.

This is an odd year in that there isn't a full fixture list during race week. In previous years we've either been away, or the fixture has been put either forward or back a week.

The Wimbledon rearrangement does nevertheless scupper the traditional Tuesday outing to the races for the squad.

Exactly, why make it difficult for folk by making them choose. I am a ST at both locations, but have never opted to go to watch CTFC on a race day. Am sure I can't be the only one who prioritises in that way.

Definitely NYD and race week, but I’m sure we have games at home on a Saturday in November when there’s also racing. Even though it ends earlier because of the light, the traffic is still usually pretty bad.

We haven’t been at home on a November meeting Saturday in the recent past:

2024 - away at MK
2023 - No game
2022 - away at Ipswich
2021 - No game
2020 - Covid
2019 - away at Exeter
2018 - away at Notts County

We were at home on 14th December against Morecambe when there was racing on.

Yes, as I said above I think it’s only NYD, The Festival and November Open days we ask for exemptions.

The November meeting has for many years been the second biggest meet of the year, after the Gold Cup.
The December meeting is a much smaller event, hence the reason we played at home that day, and probably will continue to do so. We wouldn’t be at home on the Saturday before Xmas if we’re always at home on Boxing Day, bearing in mind the December meeting is always second weekend in that month.

Must have been what I was thinking of then. I don't follow racing much
