Would hope we've got a 20% sell on

He didn't pull up any trees for us - so anything we get would be a bonus.

He doesn’t seem to have pulled up trees for Lincoln either. He seems to have gone out on loan at Doncaster and done really well. Good luck to him and hope we get a decent sell on.

No sell on fee apparently, he was pushed out the exit door quicker than we could discuss it.

If that's the case the board really do need to be dragged over the coals, far more so than the May fiasco

Absolute Joke of a club when it comes to transfers.
No one can defend these terrible decisions.

All in the past now.

Let's hope MG has overseen a proper deal for Archer to Luton

Pretty sure Mr Bloxsome said we needed to "slash" the wage bill after we were relegated which is why he, Bonds and others went pretty quickly.

The truth will come out soon.

How GJ is still anywhere near this football club I will never know.

I know he’s pals with Baker, but just how are the board letting them behave like this?

If there indeed was no sell on attached to his departure, you have to wonder why we are paying people to oversee these affairs. Or rather the standard of people.
In 2024 our view is he is not worth his wages, move on matter of months and someone (if true), comes in with a bid like this. It beggars belief. Irrespective if I think he is worth that figure, why do we not protect ourselves?

I was quite surprised we sold him for less than £100k, but assumed that was because we had a decent sell on in place.

If there wasn't, that was a really poor deal. He was a young player with potential, a sell on should've been non-negotiable

I'm only really annoyed if we didn't put a sell-on in. Letting him go made sense for the balance sheet at the time - bearing in mind he hadn't played for 6 months and, by that point, hadn't looked like being more than a hard worker.

I'm genuinely shocked someone is looking to offer more than a million quid for him.

I really hope 'ALL' transfer activity is going through MG for the foreseeable.

I really liked Street, I know he wasn't prolific for us but the potential was there.

The thing Street and Goodwin had was the physical profile and potential to be higher level strikers. Picking up players like this from U23 teams was a successful approach which we've abandoned since MM left...

I was a huge Street fan as well.

The fact Goodwin went for £400k and Street for £36k blows my mind.

The fee is probably more a reflection of the cash swilling around L1 these days. Off the top of my head Sam Smith and Magnus Westergaard are two players who signed for L1 clubs for a million or thereabouts in recent months (the latter for Wycombe, a club we aspire to be, of course).

It was £36k?! That is criminal if there's not a 20% sell on at least

It was £60k, but Palace had a 40% sell-on

That rings a bell now. Sounds like it's Luton bidding, so could be linking up with Archer...

Probably but he never went anywhere that led to us receiving one - I was being deliberately facetious in only using the names of players we've received sell-ons from.

I was told some time ago that a sell-on fee was a red line for Paul Godfrey. That's not to say he gets his way every time of course, so I don't know if Street had one in his deal. I'd be surprised if he didn't though.

Good memory Si. I would be surprised if we did not put in a sell on,especially as we had to pay one to Palace. All will be revealed in time.
