Several existing board members should in my opinion offer their resignation, based on decisions made and the way the club has been "run" for the last 18 months. After a series of Sunday League decisions, Mike Garlick now needs to be Premier League class to prevent the drop

I feel some sympathy for MF but it had to happen. Playing one up front in a must-win game was foolish.
However others should also shoulder the blame for the parlous state of the club: Bloxham, for poor leadership and naivety - the loss of Alfie for a pittance led to a goal-less run and inevitable relegation - and upping season ticket prices that discourages the casual attendee; Downes and Vincent for "coaching" that appeared at times non-existent, and of course players who are at the club for a final pay-day or to enjoy free treatment at the Whaddon Road convalescent home.
Other board members need to look at themselves as well - input from individuals and the Robins Trust with suggestions to improve communications, PR and revenue over the past two years has been ignored. For example is it really so difficult to use the Cakebridge Place site to generate revenue from parking? - the Parklands site charges £8 per car and is generally well used.
A sad day for CTFC . Please Mr Garlick use your football experience, business nous and contacts to save the club from the relegation that may be the end of the club's league status for a long time.

Sad but there was only one option.
Downes should be right behind him too. It will be criminal if he remains at the club.
It will be Russell Milton all over again.
New manager needs to bring in his own team. None of this merger nonsense like we’ve had for years

Not many people agree with that decision but Mike Garlick would have been party to it as he was present today.
It would be astonishing (or would it?) if the club had not sounded out a handful of preferred candidates already, knowing that Flynny was on borrowed time.
That’s some strong sherbet you’ve been inhaling!!ctfc-fan wrote:I’ve heard from a very good source that Sean Dyche is lined up temporarily to steady the ship. Makes sense given his relationship with MG.

Dyche and Garlick had a well noted falling out in their final years at Burnley.
I can't be certain of the exact wording, but due to the grounding on Cakebridge Place, it would cost something like £300k to lay the proper grounding down for parking.Ben Storins wrote: ↑20 Sep 2025, 18:19 I feel some sympathy for MF but it had to happen. Car parking is also such an unimaginative use of the land. It would benefit a small number of fans, just add a hundred or more cars to already congested post match roads and do nothing to attract floating voters to games.
Would have been interesting to hear how much the racecourse pays for their temp parking surface on the fields they own on Evesham road. Obviously (?), that was looked into and was rejected for some reason. But why would should the fans be kept updated on that. It is a typical example of CTFC, a lot of noise about how we have got permission to use it, then feck all.Si Robin wrote: ↑20 Sep 2025, 19:21I can't be certain of the exact wording, but due to the grounding on Cakebridge Place, it would cost something like £300k to lay the proper grounding down for parking.Ben Storins wrote: ↑20 Sep 2025, 18:19 I feel some sympathy for MF but it had to happen. According to informed sources:TheTownClub wrote: ↑20 Sep 2025, 19:02 Dyche and Garlick had a well noted falling out in their final years at Burnley.
Overall impression
• For most of Dyche’s time under Garlick, the relationship was strong and allowed Burnley to achieve well above what many expected given their resources.
• Tension seems to have crept in when external pressures increased — staying in the Premier League, facing more ambitious competitors, needing deeper squads, and during uncertain ownership / financial moments.
• Importantly, both seemed to understand and respect each other: Garlick respected what Dyche delivered; Dyche understood the constraints, even if he wasn’t always happy with them.
I believe he was more at fault than Flynn, his coaching of organising a defence was dire. GJ mate, Torquay fans warned us, they were right. Wonder if it would of worked if Hatswell was Flynns nu.ber 2, will never know, just hope the right man is appointed
I sincerely wish MF all the best and he is well out of this circus

Just a flashback to Saturday.
Did anyone else see the two blokes approaching block 1 and being pretty aggressive during the anti-Flynn songs on Saturday? Lots of finger-pointing, onanism and v-signs being directed at them from the running track before they were gently ushered out by stewards. Happened about 10 mins before the end.

There's a few older fans who were in Block 1 before the 1887 moved down. They drink in Parklands before and after the game and are very critical of vocal singing that isn't supporting the team.
They didn't like the anti-Johnson stuff a couple of weeks back and, presumably, didn't like the anti-Flynn stuff on Saturday. Not because of any loyalty to Johnson or Flynn but because of the lack of supporting the team itself.
Not saying it was definitely these guys on this occasion, but it wouldn't surprise me.

It was the flymo boys I believe, no idea what happened.Jerry St Clair wrote: ↑22 Sep 2025, 08:20 Just a flashback to Saturday.

But you are forgetting the golden rule of block 1, as soon as we go behind - exodus

These guys were "of retirement age" I'd guess, so seems likely. They were really angry, and demonstratively so, which is not an emotion you generally see loads of at Whaddon Road, especially between our own fans.Si Robin wrote: ↑22 Sep 2025, 08:36 There's a few older fans who were in Block 1 before the 1887 moved down. Exactly. He must shoulder his proportion of the blame for the mess we are in.
