Cheltenham Town v Bristol Rovers
Moderators: Admin, Ralph, asl, Robin
Hope so there’s definitely a player in there somewhere. He rarely gives the ball away. Maybe LB is his position

Think the lino definitely needs a trip to get his eyes tested after giving a corner when Diallo kept it well inside the line. At least a full rotation from the line, let alone going fully over it.
The TV commentator is absolutely obsessed with telling us it's surely only a matter of time until Rovers score. It'll surely be their goal that breaks the deadlock. Surely a Rovers goal is on the way...

Poor Pell. Yes he was out of position, but this game can be cruel in letting you know time's up.

To be fair, der Kaiser doesn't have those abilities these days.
SC should of hook Pell after 30 minutes and put sohna in middle to spray long diagonals.
Sohna would have won more headers and tackles.
Tonight highlighted how poor Pell and Angol are compared with the rest of the squad.
Deigo Bakare would have been better than Angol!
Thankless task up front on your own I know but gotta do more

Positives were Wilcox looking better each match he plays and Diallo in goal looked very composed for someone so inexperienced.
As others have said Pell had obviously been told to shield the back 4 but he looked so leggy and off the pace. Angol was awful and must have made up SC mind that we need another striker in ASAP.

Last night proves that the narrative that Pell was central to Flynn’s plans and if only he’d been available we’d have done much better, we’re off the mark.
It was incredibly sad to watch, the game just completely passed him by.

Bit harsh, he looks a bit like FB would be playing at the age he is now
I don't think he's bad by any stretch but it's not obvious to me what he's adding to the team yet. He doesn't have any pace and is a big lad so not particularly mobile, two things you would usually look for in a number ten role. His physical build would suggest he's a striker but I've not seen aerial ability as a strength either.
He has some nice touches and his spatial awareness is good but we need more.
As SC indicated, we will never know who was a Flynn choice. For me Pell is only here because if previous connections, not because of his current ability or lack ofJerry St Clair wrote: ↑08 Oct 2025, 06:20 Last night proves that the narrative that Pell was central to Flynn’s plans and if only he’d been available we’d have done much better, we’re off the mark.

Definitely a player there, but needs to bulk up a bit and be more physical. We can't wait 12-24 months for that to happen, so not sure what he adds to the squad, at present.Robin wrote: ↑08 Oct 2025, 07:18I don't think he's bad by any stretch but it's not obvious to me what he's adding to the team yet. Maybe, if he gets a few more minutes on the field his confidence will improve. He did seem to grow into the game more in the 2nd half.

From the evidence of the last two games Taylor is a number 9.He did well up front on Saturday but did not get in the game against Rovers. We should have played two up front in the second half.tunnelvision wrote: ↑08 Oct 2025, 11:33Definitely a player there, but needs to bulk up a bit and be more physical.
