I did wonder if he would have considered Pell up top if he was available.
A massive gamble and too risky for his first match probably.
We urgently need another striker though and Robin's Chris Martin suggestion is decent.
Too expensive probably even with MG chucking more money into the kitty. ( that probably makes Flynny think if he'd had more backing earlier it would have worked out cheaper than bringing in Cotts and his band of helpers).

Depends how wisely it was spent.

I'm not sure Chris Martin will be out of budget with MG backing, he's in his last year of his career, seems to be based in Bristol so unlikely to want to move around. Someone like Lucas Aitkens might be different as he appears to be based up in the East Midlands. Callum Morton originally from Somerset I think but was at West Brom, then Salford so unsure if he'd need relocation allowance.

One more name which feels ridculous but might not actually be as silly as it sounds is Britt Assambalonga. He was last at Watford but please abroad in Turkey and now a free agent, only 32.

Edit Tyler Smith who I mentioned last time has now signed for a National League team. So only four options for strikers:
1. Chris Martin (released by Bristol rovers)
2. Callum Morton (released by Salford)
3. Max Mata (contract terminated by Shrews)
4. Tyreece Jon-Jules (turned down a new deal at Crawley)

Adding James Wilson (29 years old) released by Port Vale (but seems to be based around Manchester)

As already mentioned elsewhere, Lucas Akins (not Aitkins) is in jail for killing a cyclist with his car. He got 14 months in April, so I don't quite think he's a viable option.

Definitely more organised and more effort, and less hacking the ball forward to somebody that will never win it in the air although it is still happening. A few of the players are still below the required level though, obviously. Hutchinson has had a poor second half of the half and Martin has barely been involved again. Cotts has been giving him a few instructions. Well, he's been guiding the whole team through it really.
Hutchinson reminds me of Ellis Chapman, obviously can play but without the ball very poor ?

I think the football gods were looking down on WR today.

Stevenson my MOTM.
Some great last ditch tackling.
2 really composed finishes.

And we got an Archer upgrade.

Not sure but I think I saw Day quick kick out....praise the lord.

Has SC finished his lap of honor.

Our Hero has well and truly returned. Bravo

👏 👏
Two things - Archer was forward and not having to worry about defending quite as much, and Day did try a quick release, but sliced it miles away from where it should have gone!
Archer ? because we had a back 4 !

Harmon played well also in the "4". The Manager seemed to keep Arkell and Harmon deeper and Archer and Martin had more roon with midfield linking up well. Subtle changes but it worked.

Cotts wasn't impressed with Harmon in the first half, I can assure you... "How many f'ing times is he going to do that????", he quite clearly said at one point.

Kudos to Harmon for the double rugby tackle that earned him no more than a yellow card in the second half, though!

Early days, but I don't think Harmon will join the list of legendary left backs we've had at this club.
...Frank Conboy, Julian Lailey and Ronnie Radford of course ( Not having a left foot didn't seem to handicap him much. )
When we signed Harmon we were shopping on the clearance rail of course.

Yes he looks a bit lightweight. Got skinned a few times by Fleetwood’s right winger..

I thought at one point he was certain to be replaced but he was actually better from that point on, after he got booked. Then, of course, he was in the right place at the right time on the line.

he's been total dog5hit till that performance on Saturday, looked like he gave a 5hit and realised he may have to put some effort in to be considered.

That's a bit harsh on Broom in my opinion. I don't see him as a starter but he's a great squad player to have due to his versatility.

Broom was good when he came on. All the subs did well.
