Brilliant. Let's hope we avoid a humiliation! This might improve the chances of City playing a stronger side.
Indeed, should be a good boost for our advertising slots. Especially with all that spare space in the stands!!Shade wrote:Well, this draw couldn't have got much more plum. Best TV slot as far as I'm concerned, prime time Saturday evening.
Gutted for Chorley though, poor buggers haven't been selected at all as far as I can see?!

And that article confirms £22,500 for the losing side!
£85K for the broadcast fee, plus at least £22.5K if we lose the game.
Though the latter is in direct contradiction to the FA's own website (https://www.thefa.com/competitions/thefacup/prize-fund" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)....but hey, who cares.
Be a nice gesture if City donated their TV fee to CTFC

And I could still hum/sing both of those shows theme tunes, and I'm not even that old. I couldn't even name the c!#p they show these days (other than Pointless). I'm not that old physically, anyway.
Wait, what thread is this? Oh yes, football. The football's on the telly. Wooden rattles, and that.

Yep, gives us time for a late lunch, with maybe a few glasses of red. Before walking round to the ground, and enjoying the atmosphere of a match under the lights, without it being near mid-night............. Unlike other channels, the BBC seem to be using the same line-up of pundits - Alan Shearer and Ian Wright - for pretty much every Cup game. I would like to see Cotterill as a studio guest but that is not how the BBC do things.
They do have an "extra" on every now and then, but usually only for "big" games. As it's a Premier League team in the Saturday evening slot then it probably will be Lineker, Shearer (his first visit to WR in 15 years, since '06?) and Wright, but they also have Dion Dublin and Alex Scott, when Dan Walker hosts, but they usually seem to only do games not involving PL teams. And Crawley v Leeds had Jermaine Jenas and Jermaine Beckford, I think hosted by "Chappers". Given they have virtually the whole ground to choose from, I wonder where they will host it from.

I hope so, as it makes the ground look better with the CF in the backdrop rather than the Canteen Terrace etc. It will just be nice to see all the different camera angles, as it will have a full TV set up rather than just one or two cameras.Red Duke wrote:When BBC covered the FA Cup game against Newcastle, rather than using the camera position in the Colin Farmer stand, they used a crane over the main stand. I wonder if they will do the same?
seem to remember them building a camera position on top of the old stand? But I guess in the days we are in, a crane is easier. Piyy it wont be bright enough for a zoom in on cleeve hill. Always amazed me how the races camera can almost tell the colours of the eyes of the folk in top of cleeve hill, when they zoom in
