Who do you think are our top 5 earners and how much they get paid weekly ?. The clubs yearly salary being £2-5 million

Curtis Davies surely. He was reputedly on over £10k a week at Derby (and that was after having taken a pay cut during their troubles). I’d be surprised if he was on much less than £4k a week, paid for out of the May deal.

Sorry but there is no chance we are paying anyone £4k a week. Our highest earners will be on about half of that.

I expect the bulk of our first team squad to be earning around £1500 per week or a bit above which is good league two wages (average player there earns just over £1200 a week). I suspect we have at most a handful of players earning around £2000 a week. Just at a guess they are Southwood, Davies, Sercombe, Keena, maybe Bonds and Freestone.

A quick math check, five players earning £2k per week is £500k per year. 15 players earning £1500 a week and another group of younger players and loans earning around £1k a week gets us to roughly our wage bill.

I'd be surprised if there aren't a couple on 2500-3000 per week. 12 years ago one of our best, but not highest, earners was on £1500 a week in L2. Apparently that wasn't enough to keep him out of prison, though.

The amount released per week on salaries for all the released players and ones due to go according to a football salaries website is and I know it is only very very approximate because who can tell exactly who earns what, but figures look reasonably realistic. We are the lowest payers in Lg 1 as most of us thought.
Figure comes out to about 14k a week in players that have left or due to leave. Not an unhealthy sum for 3 or 4 players.
Certainly scope for a punt on a few decent players. If available.

Whether true figures or not thats what it says. Looking at other clubs some of the loan fees are huge. Look at Leeds!!!

Sercombe seems a glaring omission from these lists. His contract extension last summer took ages to get sorted which suggests negotiations were lengthy and we really wanted to keep him. He has to be in our top 5.
