Looks busy

Seven games, pretty much two games a week all month, not a huge amount of travel with Wigan being the furthest away game (just). Hopefully we can stay injury free and not leave us too shattered for March and April.

It's a run of games you'd expect us to get a decent points return from. Ideally by the end of the month we need to be at 34 points or better to remain on course for survival I would say, much less than that and things begin to look very tough.

We have 2 days and at a minimum 2 good signings, before having any hope of those Feb points

It’s the whole season for us now. We had the bad start, then the rally, then the tough away run after Christmas… we need a good February to avoid being cut adrift and fighting from behind the line.

Yes, exciting month ahead which is going to make or break the season.

If we want to have any chance of staying up the time for hard luck stories and moral victories are over and we need points. Whilst it is generally a good thing to be playing those around or close(ish) to us the fact is if we lose to any of them we pretty much lose the chance to catch them.

Trust in DC and the staff and players to give it everything, just need a few breaks to go our way!

Due to our abysmal 12 game start, that left us needing about 50 points from 34 games, or 1.47 points per game, which is top half of the table form.

We’ve since turned it around massively and have taken 22 points from 15 games, or 1.47 points per game, so we’re bang on track. We were 3 points above that line but the Bolton & Derby games have set us back and it just shows that simply no game can be dismissed as “we never expected any points there anyway” since any set-back is significant.

Looking ahead, we need to keep getting 1.47 points per game for the next 19 games, which will be good going if we manage to pull off this kind of consistency. Unfortunately it also probably means that any noticeable dip in results - whether that be to injuries, suspensions, hard luck stories or selling our leading scorer & failing to sign someone who can hit the ground running - will ultimately prove very costly as it’ll push up the points per game requirement to a level that we’re just not good enough to hit.

To stay on track in February, we need 10.3 points from the 7 games, or ideally a couple of points more given that most of those teams are in the bottom half.
