Given these are the guys that drove Worcester Warriors to fold, it doesn't look good for Morecambe.

Blimey, it's still tasty up there... Board sacked and reinstated the following day with the promise that the sale would be concluded today (Monday). Now Jason has posted that his family have received threats and this has put off two prospective buyers and he's going to pursue this through the police. The fans, meanwhile, think this is a smokescreen behind which to announce a delay in the promised sale 'today' as they have seen no evidence of any of this, anywhere. Let's face it, some fan with a bit of time on his hands can probably nip round the houses of the other fans and ask if it were them...

...update from Trust.

https://x.com/shrimpstrust/status/19422 ... _pGfg&s=19

He's still stalling.

Someone suggested this could be because Morecambe will be due a parachute payment from the EFL.
They wouldn't would they?

So a new buyer , so needing to pass the fit and proper test one imagines.

Players have gone on strike and any remaining at the club are refusing to play due to non-payment of wages, so tomorrow's PSF v Barrow is off. The mythical 'new buyers' announced a week ago has not even applied to the NL. Most fans think administration is the only course of action remaining.

Membership to the National League suspended with immediate effect and removed from the NL Cup. The NL Committee will reconvene on 20th August to decide whether they will be allowed to retain their membership.

I guess this means their first few matches starting 9th Aug will be postponed. IIRC, that's what happened with Bury? All their games were postponed for a month until, eventually, they were kicked out, entirely

I've no idea personally, but could this work better for Bond Group if Morecambe go out of existence.
They own the ground so could they theoretically sell the freehold to a developer for a greater sum than Panjab Warriors were paying and trouser the money?
Am I being hyper suspicious when we had Worcester Warriors and then Panjab Warriors?

how the hell did Bond group make it past the "fit and proper " EFL tests

There's a good degree of suspicion about PW's means and motivation wrt this takeover on the Shrimpsvoices forum. Apparently, it's very unclear where the money is coming from and many fans are suspecting they may be part of the scam and working with Whittingham. Frying pan to fire...

I’ve been doing some digging on Punjab Warriors and the company is new (1 year) and has capital issues of £100, quite normal for a new company.

The parent company is JKM Capital Ltd, very rich sounding, but a dormant company as of 12th March 2025 and again with share capital of £100.

Most other companies owned by Kuljeet Singh Momi are fairly high risk with few employees and nothing in the bank and negative net worth and working capital.

Now they might have a silent backer somewhere but looking at his house it’s semi detached and not huge, something again that doesn’t sit right with me.

I’m not sure all is as seems but I might be wrong!

Latest:

"The first team have had to stop all football operations as the required insurance which was in place has now lapsed as payment has not been made.

"As a result of this escalating situation more first team players have left the club, with further players set to leave by the end of this week."

Where's Tyson Fury when you need him?

Not to bail them out, but to smack a few heads.

The chair of their Trust has resigned and a statement says the academy closes tomorrow and the club will have to lock the doors on Monday.

The end would appear to be nigh.

And I assume the EFL and all other sporting bodies will ban Jason W from becoming involved with sports team management again?!

Na thought not!

Assuming he's not been able to collect, presumably that will make him the biggest creditor in the event of liquidation - but are there enough assets to make it worthwhile? Don't HMRC get first dibs, anyway? Presumably the Board of Directors (now resigned) approved this loan?

Football creditors first, even before HMRC, it’s that stupid law that’s only for football teams, still don’t understand how football can or should be any different to a normal business rules Image

Just been reading the morecambe forum :o If this happened here then that would be me done with football.

Taken from the forum

Football owners do not by law have to us money into the Club they own, they are also in most cases not liable for debts of a Club, especially if the Club is a Limited Company.

So that’s where we are, we have an owner who is not putting money into the Club and will not be liable for our debts.

That’s our great national game in a nut shell, fans, feelings, employees and community don’t come into it.

This needs to change then I presume it will weed out the spivs, doubt that would ever happen though, just don't think there is the interest in smaller clubs for anyone to be bothered.

That’s the same with any limited company, it is an entity in its own right, however if the director(s) do anything illegal then they can be held personally liable.

Haven't paid any interest on this saga, but I saw Tyson Furey mentioned alongside Morecambe fc in a headline. What has he got to do with them?

Lives locally and owns their training ground and facilities, apparently. He's also recently ruled out buying the club, though some on their forum cling on to hope.

Funny how tolerant people can be of Travellers when it suits them...

Not much of a Traveller, is he - he's got a huge house in Morecambe.

Having said that, it's up for sale, apparently. Probably trying to get out of there before it's egged by a Morecmabe fan...

And have now put a British Asian in charge - jobs for the boys? Comments I've seen have been quite complimentary about him so maybe it will turn out ok, but he's never managed at anything like NL first team level, and the whole thing feels like they're going to be in big trouble all season. He might get sacked, but they might also feel like they have to stick with him if it is all going wrong.

And I wouldn't at all be surprised if Morecambe are in pretty much the same position and going down the drain again within 2-3 years. Hope I'm wrong.

Someone on ShrimpsVoices did some digging on PV a while back - and if he was right, I think you may be, too.

Things like the company names: "Panjab Warriors" is a small company with a couple of employees, not much cash, not many assets. Conversely, "Punjab Warriors" is a very large organisation. Similarly, it has some related operations that are small-scale - but one letter different in name to some very large operations. In summary, PV seem to be what you get if you order new owners from Temu or Wish. He didn't understand as the new owners had money - but not football club-ownership amounts of money.

It's all very bizarre.
