Exeter

Not confident going into this one. Looking bare up front. Hard grind on Friday. Exeter playing well even though they dont score many . Heart says 3 points would be massive today. Head says we may well get beat . Probably be happy with a point. Problem being, will that be enough ! We need to finish a...

Re: Fleetwood Town v Cheltenham Town

Touch of class from Nuttall and great positon from Keena. I coukld have kicked the cat after they equalized but hey, keep the faith !!! 5 home games and 3 away must give us a chance 1 ...however boys must be knackered after the effort on that quagmire. Get home and put your feet up for two days... a...

LLoyd/ Keena

Not sure about Lloyds injury but I for one would be happy to see Keena get a chance against Wycombe. Did alright last night and even though has poor form of late isnt lacking confidence. More importantly holds the ball up better than Lloydy who too often gets bundled off it. Probably wont agree with...

Re: Robins' amazing improvement

On the Lactics site a few posters are talking about them trying to play out from the back too much...
... sounds like one or two of our recent opponents , and we know how that ended.
So ....Same again , keeper plays route one, high press and force them into errors.
Quite confident about this one !!

Re: Cheltenham Town v Port Vale

Well , that was a real battle. First 20 mins was a real fight for every ball. Vale were up for it to start but the sheer physicality of the Robins out fought them , headers, second balls 50/50 s Hell of a scrap !! Not pretty, route one , but effective, plus.... three well taken goals Have you ever s...

Re: Derby County v Cheltenham Town

We absolutely deserved to get something out of that. DCs tactics sucessfull for long periods of the game against a team, around the top and costing a lot more money ! Shame about the result but still lots of positives. After the last two perfomances surely nothing to fear against any other team in t...

Well had to turn off the commentary but...
nul points but I thought we did well.
They were more than happy to hang on at the end.
Harrop played a very usefull 15 mins if he can keep that up for 90 we have a player.

DC is making us very very hard to beat. Even before the game Portsmouth fans were saying we were no easy touch and some even saying we would not be relegated.
Seems light years away from being the laughing stock of the football league - just a three months ago !

Re: First time this season

Olayinka big miss Thought he was undervalued by the commentary team in the first match. Only player who looked like he could be beat a player. If we keep just hitting channel balls , even in this league we will get nothing. Both of the forwards need thru balls , playing off the last man. As it stand...

Interesting point. I watched a game on the box a couple of weeks ago. I think Newcastle were involved. Full sunshine, one of those grounds where half the pitch is in the shade. Very difficult to identify the teams when the play was on the sunny side of the ground. Looked like both teams were were we...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Forest Green Rovers

Great local derby. Thud and blunder yes., but we won all the midfield battles. Sercs. Bloomy and Elliott all immense. Caleb won everything in the air as usual and May/Keena both great finishes. Thought Wil Ferry should have been given the ball quicker as he looked lively. League One next season and ...

Midfield was AWOL
Bonds and Perry next match.

Ferry MOM for me.
Taylor supreme in the air but scratchy on the turf.
Keena shows glimpses of class.

Re: Wade Elliott after the win over Fleetwood

There's a good piece in the Times today about the result of sacking your manager when the team is not doing well. The stats show that it usually means the results will only get worse - gives Cardiff City and QPR as good examples. Its averages, of course. So some new managers have made a different bu...
