Re: COE and or DOF

Good point. If I were looking to invest in the club, I would ask for the business strategy and plan as part of my due diligence. If they weren't forthcoming, that would ring alarm bells.

Re: Murray toms

Bad news. Murry created the supporter services group after the awkward departure of Jenny Hancock from the SLO role. I do hope there are no further ructions in this area. We really need a bit of stability in supporter relations.

Re: COE and or DOF

I don't think the issue was Mickey Moore going himself, so much as having no plan for when he did leave. At best, this was naive on the Board's part. At worst, reckless. I have spent today updating my succession plan at work. My team of 12 is relatively stable, at least more stable than a league fo...

The man overseeing either Town's swansong in L1 or the greatest miracle of miracles will be Lee Swabey We have a very decent record under Swabey over the last 5 or 6 years. CEO is an interesting one. I've been an advocate for it, but JP on a recent Robins Report said that the club actually already have a defacto CEO in Paul Godfrey. Not something that had occurred to me. The problem, of course, is that you're reliant on one individual going above and beyond which leave...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Lincoln City

If you’d landed from outer space and watched that game you’d assume it was two limited, but competent, lower half L1 teams, with the lads in pink and black just edging it.

And we had half of our best players out. An incredibly frustrating afternoon.

according to our more ‘radical’ fanbase on the socials there could be some anti Bloxham sentiment today, probably not the best idea to have a ‘prickly’ fans forum a few days before a vital few fixtures. could get a bit nasty if we lose. Noisy anti-Bloxham chants from Block 1. Some of them also gath...

Block 6 almost sold out. Plenty of seats in the main stand. Block 7 completely empty. Block 8 now not even on sale. This is, frankly, a pathetic response by the people of Cheltenham. Their club needs them, and they've responded with apathy. I’m shocked to be honest. The seats have been consistently...

I would question how you could build a Business plan that is to a certain extent based on your ability to develop and sell players. It is a laudable goal to have, but surely it is partly based on luck? I am struggling to understand how you can depend on spotting an unearthed talent, persuade them t...

Re: TONIGHT: 2023/24 Club Annual Shareholders Meeting and Fans’ Forum

I've been reflecting on last night. It seems clear to me that DB is very focussed on player development and selling. That is possibly rooted in his day job as an employment lawyer so he has a natural bias towards talent development. He doesn't seem to have much appetite for any other form of growth....

Essentially, no new stand. No redevelopment of Cakebridge. No new investment. Best we can hope for is incremental improvements.

The really, really worrying thing for me is that members of the audience repeatedly asked for a plan for growth and it seems there isn't one. I find that.....surprising.

Fair point. The answer is for the club to to specifically say on social media that more seats have been released for this massive game (more seats released implies big demand which can drive demand in itself.).

Indeed. Though, coincidently, Reading's final away game in 2017 was at Burton. The stewards began confiscating inflatables when the turnstiles opened, but pretty soon gave up.

No Street. No Keena. Possibly no Lloyd. A half fit Matty Taylor. Nuttall may be our only fully fit forward available for the remaining three games.

Darrell is a risk taker and we need goals.
