Re: Break the bank...
If it comes to saying goodbye to Wade, I suspect that the board will look in house first. Russ Milton has done the job before albeit between permanent appointments and perhaps he should be given a chance to work with the new signings he has made. However, I think the club should stick with Wade. Jud...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Barnsley
A much improved performance, particularly in the first 45. The addition of Will G to the forward line made a great difference. Rob S had an excellent game and was my MOTM. However, in our enthusiasm to score, we forgot basic defence. Leaving only GK plus one sprinter in defence for a corner is folly...

Re: 2 Days to Go. What do we need up front
Agree that Street and Keena do not as yet gel in the same way as May and Keena ( or Jeff Goulding and Wes Thomas). We could be lucky and get in a Reg Varney or a Jamie Cureton. Why not make a late strong bid for Harrogate Town’s Luke Armstrong, a goal scoring CF target man?

Positives for me were the welcome earlier return of Elliot; the continuing outstanding (captain-like) performances of Lewis; the very promising start from Luciano and the cultured performances of Curtis Davies. Was he playing CF in the final few minutes?

An excellent goal thanks to Bonds and Keena and a win is a win is a win.
Otherwise a serious lesson given by a much better group in possession football and stringing chains of passes together. But we took our chance whereas they squandered theirs. And our keepers were excellent.

Re: Alfie May bid
I’m a huge fan of Alfie and consider him to be one of the best strikers our club has ever owned. For this reason, I believe that the club should not accept less than £500K. Statistics suggest that the club sold Mo Eisa for £1.1M, Steven Gillespie for £425K and Kayode Odejayi for £300K. (I could not ...

Re: Oxford United v Cheltenham Town
Given the recent poor form of Oxford, an obvious tactic would have been for Cheltenham to have started all guns blazing and establishing early dominance and a goal or two lead. Such a start may well have have demoralised the opposition and led to another three points in the bag. Early on there was l...

Where do we want our club to be next season and in seasons to come? I would hope that the CTFC Board and most fans would say to further consolidate our place in League 1 and to improve our position year on year with the aim of seriously contending for promotion to the Championship. All based on a so...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Accrington Stanley
A frustrating game, but nonetheless enjoyable and entertaining before a good home crowd. We were really impressive in the first 15 minutes or so, but Accrington grew into it and shaded the first half. However, we stepped up in the second half and completely tamed them. They employed every trick in t...

Re: Forest Green Rovers v Cheltenham Town
i did wonder having watched our dismal performance for a while whether being treated to lots of world class football recently had unfairly made me expect too much from my team. Now that the snow has settled, so to speak, I think not. FGR wanted the points more and our team were lethargic and uninspi...

It’s a rare chance for Brown to impress. Another goal to his name. WE gave him a few minutes at Hillsborough and he had an unconverted chance. It’s a mystery why he’s excluded.

I agree with Nesty about Olayinka and would have liked to have seen more of him, but presumably WE is protecting him till he is fully fit. Having seen Will Ferry play so well at Hillsborough, I hope he will soon return to the team fully fit. His replacement yesterday was unremarkable. I cannot agree...

A fair result, could have gone either way. Gillingham more motivated than us, judging not least from their ecstatic reaction to their second goal.
Callum Wright a joy to watch again. One audacious piece of skill when he beat his man ‘carrying’ the ball on his head.

An interesting interview.
The biblical reference of ‘Turning water into wine’ makes me wonder how Michael Duff
is regarded by the club management. As a messiah? Well He came to a brutal end.
This season hopefully we will be turning wine into fortified wine. Let’s keep the champagne on ice.

Delighted that Alfie is staying. I like a grafter who runs and runs for 90 minutes or so. He reminds me of Billy Waters, another favourite. Duff speaks highly of Alfie and continues to improve his performances. I am optimistic that his goal scoring tally will not disappoint.

Pity. He did well for us and his attitude and enthusiasm were rewarding. He did seem to like being here responding well with the fans. Two Kyles gone (a first for the club?) With the benefit of hindsight, the value of signing both Tav and Reuben Reed from FGR seems questionable. As management searches for players to strengthen the squad, could any one remind us how
many players remain who were signed during Gary’s time as manager and what that tells us.
How does this list compare with Michael’s signings who remain?

I enjoyed reading Jon’s account almost as much as I enjoyed watching the game and would only add that Alex Addai could have scored another had he not unselfishly passed to (Reilly). Absolutely agree that we should sign Billy. Was very disappointed when GJ did not re-sign him. His qualities are just what we need - fitness level, work rate, goal scoring record, adapting to the style of others around him. And he is apparently happy to be here and part of the squad.

Harrogate Town worth watching in Conference next season. A good team, which plays on an artificial
pitch in front of 3000 max. Plans to build more stands and improve facilities recently approved to accommodate 5000 fans. League 2 prospects in 5 years time, maybe? Danny Wright might fit in well there.

Don't panic, Mr Mainwaring, don't panic! Yes we were well beaten by a very good team playing high octane football and witnessed 6 excellent goals. But we were spared a final humiliation when Scott was alert to the audacious pot shot from near the half way line. Coventry in that mood could have beate...

Agree with Nesty's analysis. But it goes further than that. We need also to recruit both a strong, experienced, central defender to partner and mentor Will Boyle, and an experienced 'destroyer' in midfield. Characters similar, in recent years, to Steve Elliott and Kyle Storer, but a little better. A...
