Also, I remember when Steve Cotterill was interviewed for the Oxford job and most people considered a foregone conclusion that he was gone but he rejected the offer and stayed at CTFC.

Re: Derby County

So Derby more than likely have a new owner, BIG money thrown at Rooney to stay, BIG money thrown at players to come to Derby, HUGE season ticket sales. One season in the third tier in front of record crowds with the media dripping themselves in a Rooney / derby orgy and they're back in the champ, n...

Re: Alfie May - Blackburn Rovers show interest.

The usual Summer click bait (hopefully!). I would be more inclined to believe it if Blackburn had a manager but as Mowbray is leaving then I remain skeptical. I agree. It does seem bizarre that there is this rumour going around. Surely any decision on recruitment will be made by the incoming manager?

Re: Finn Azaz

In terms of his development, it would make sense for him to gain experience at League 1 level, so a loan to this level would make sense. I wouldn't have a problem with him returning. Similarly with Aaron Ramsey who should have been loaned out to a League 2 club this season as he wasn't up to the sta...

Re: Away allocation

It’s £26 in advance for away fans, not £23. The ticket price difference between CF/Hazlewoods and the C&G is 44% whether using gross (£26/£18) or net (£21.67/£15) numbers, which is the point. 1,500 away fans sitting generates more revenue than 2,000 standing which is all the figures were illust...

Surely as a manager it is his job to motivate the players to overcome the disappointment of going behind in a match and not to blame them for being women.

Lol. We were just comparing like with like. It’s the margin of difference in income which is important when considering away fans, not the accurate net figure. Horlick is right. The numbers that have been quoted are in pounds and therefore any difference between them will be smaller due to VAT. Usi...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Portsmouth

The goal kicking tactics is decided by the coaching staff. The key to success is the ability of the players to control the ball and for others to move into space so that they are in a position to receive it. Surely, the coaching must see that the success rate is pretty low and needs revising. Maybe...

Hopefully there will be an option to print out away tickets.

If it does not become available then the current system of picking up tickets at the away grounds will be fine as it has worked well for me this season.

Freestone is a major liability in most games but to his credit can also turn in some really good performances like vs Man City, Yup. I think the same as well, especially at the time, Alfie was considering a move to USA and we would have needed a replacement if he went.

Back from the game. One of most bizarre games I have ever seen. We looked good for most of the first half and then we just fell apart. There were several times that it was like watching head tennis with little football being played. For the first 20 minutes of the second half, we were hardly in the ...

However, he did change in the second half as several goal kicks were the old fashioned long ones.

I think it is very much a red herring to blame muscle injuries due to not being able to have enough subs. I suspect that very few substitutions in a game today are due to injury, most are for tactical reasons. I wonder how these top managers would have coped in the 1960's when there weren't any! If ...

For me, personally, Carlisle away... January 2006. Higgs kept us in the game with god knows how ma...

Re: What can we achieve in League One with the current set-up?

Why would an average crowd of 5000 be unrealistic? Our current average is around 4200 so that's an extra 800 through the gate and with our catchment it should be realistic especially when the new stand is finally built. Look at Lincoln gone from average crowds of 2400 or so to 6000+. If we gave the...

The statement from Richard Lewis makes for very bizarre reading. What on earth is going on at board level at our club?

It does not reflect well on our perception of the way the club is being run.

As others have suggested, perhaps our FED can share more light on this?

I can't back this up but Pete Matthews and Mark Halliwell were saying last Saturday that whenever Cheltenham move away from the 3-5-2 formation, we don't usually get a positive result. They usually have no idea what formation we are playing. Disagree. When watching a game on iFollow with their comm...
