Re: Your pre match routine
Watch horse racing (my other love) until 2.40. Leave my flat in Pittville Crescent Lane at 2.40, take seat in CF at 2.52 Sort of related - I usually exit via the PR terrace through the main car park - however that route was blocked off on Saturday (even the stewards had no idea why). Anyone know if...

Again enjoyed the podcast but a disconnect is emerging.
Generally - happy that we can be competitive against anyone
Individual games - Oh, not them. Don't fancy our chances against THEM.

Re: Teams around us - Thread to season end
Looking at Cambridge recent results last 4 games they have won 2 and drawn 2. Given them 8 points. The teams they played were Shrewsbury, Burton, Exeter and Fleetwood. All were struggling when they played Cambridge. So we should go there with confidence we can perform better than those 4 did, at th...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Wycombe Wanderers
I keep seeing about how bad we were yesterday and I'm wondering if I've watched something completely different to everyone else. The goals were poor (although their second was well taken) but we dominated for long periods and at one point had every single player in the Wycombe half. If Curtis Davie...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Oxford United
Oxford league position suggests that they must have been playing well.
As such yesterday surely some of how poorly they played was down to how WE didn't ALLOW them to play well?
Which augers well.
Don't know what DC is feeding them but it must be good!

Re: The Points Per Game Equation
I made the point in another thread that WINS are what is needed. L W (e.g. Blackpool/Vale) is better than an (unbeaten) DD sequence. DC seems to be on this wavelength. That's not to say that at 1 1 away with 5 to go it's not worth settling for a point but the mindset at the outset should be to win e...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Cambridge United
As others have said the big thing yesterday was desire and we wanted if more than them. Don't think that DC has magically improved the fitness levels in a couple of weeks or introduced a radically different style of play, simply new manager bounce. On Tuesday we are up against a team that was in th...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Cambridge United
Much more aggression and commitment yesterday. Early goal definitely helped. Positive signs. Some hope for the future. A winner at either Blackpool or Vale would help. One thing - given position we are in we need wins not draws. WL = 3 points. DD = 2 points. Need to be prepared to risk one point for...

Robins - good performance. Well worth a point
Derby - looked or made to look ordinary
Ref - lamentable. Worst I've seen this season. Truly awful.

Not sure that constitutes "piling in".
Seems a balanced piece written with a large degree of sadness.
Think JP is right - time for a change.

Re: New/clarified laws this season
Still believe a 'free kick' should be allowed to be taken immediately....if the opposing player has not retreated the minimum distance [?] then it should be moved 10m in the direction of play. If multiple offences from one free kick and ends up in the box then a penalty! How many time do we see a g...

Re: Our first 10 fixtures
A good way of approaching this is to consider it like spread betting.
At what point would you pitch the spread to attract an equal number of buyers and sellers?
My pitch would be 12.5/13.5.
In other words my estimate is 13 points from those 10 games.

As my user name suggests I live in Pittville; the main stand would be more convenient (would be home in literally 5 mins) but at 6ft tall it's completely impossible to fit in! Good honest interview including a reminder that players are human too and can have off field issues to attend to which can impact on performance levels on field.
