Re: Rumour Mill
Vale fans are adamant Tom Conlon is coming here - they have been since DC took over. Conlon I could only see if we sell Bonds, surely we don't need another defensive midfielder. We need more attacking players who can create chances I would think. From what I recall, Conlon isn’t an out and out CAM ...

Re: Northampton Town v Cheltenham Town
Really disappointing result today. Just felt we were a bit 'leggy' and never really got going and their midfield didnt let Pett boss proceedings. Need to refresh (both fitness wise and squad depth wise) now and go again for the second half of the season. We have a chance but now will have to pick up...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Reading
Strange that hardly anyone has commented on the third rate defending that cost us two goals at the end of the first half. Did we think we were home and dry at 2-0? Yes particularly frustrating as it followed one of the best 44 minutes I have seen a Cheltenham team play. Still being disappointed aft...

That area infront of the paddock canteen is so non-league ,surely a section of steel terracing like the one behind the goal at Evesham would improve the view for fans there. The canteen could stand on the unused little patio near the entrance there. Agreed, barrow have put in two temp seating stands ...

Agree with that Fuller. I was thinking on the way home that they seemed to get more joy going forward when Lloydy went off. Losing his massive workrate seemed to cost us. Maybe he was out on his feet, it wouldnt surprise me with the work he put in but would a more energetic Peupion or Butler Oyedeji...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Leyton Orient
Really proud of the performance of the 10 plus subs. Gutted at the result which may well cost us in the end as it was 3 points for the taking against a very limited opposition. All they did was grapple, pull and hold our forwards all day and got away with it. In my view ref was in two minds whether ...

Re: Mike Duff
I don't think so - he left Barnsley partially because of the travel. Rotherham would be exactly the same. I can see him taking a break, bit of punditry on Sky live games maybe, then seeing what comes up down the line. Possibly however in this day and age you can't be out of work too long or you bec...

In hindsight Duff to Swansea was never really going to be a good fit. You have to wonder what sort of due diligence some of these clubs do before appointing their Managers/Head Coaches. Duff's honest, pragmatic approach is light years away from the Russell Martin 'why make one pass when you can do s...

Re: Blackpool
One of the theories from their forum is that they fielded their emergency loan keeper - but named their 'injured' keeper on the bench. That might explain why it's not so cut and dried as the Barnsley case. Weird Also read on there that the 'injured' keeper also played in the EFL Trophy. In which ca...

Just looked at the handball, how the hell is that deliberate, tell me we would get that decision - NO CHANCE. I feel like it was a pen but it was soft. Re: Cheltenham Town v Oxford United
Thompson and Ferry out :( With no Thompson or Bonds, be interesting to see who gets that spot. Especially with Chapman, Adshead and Olayinka basically out of the picture. Were a better side without Bonds, we get the ball forward quicker, were not caught in pocession as much. In my view Pett and Tho...

DC also said at the forum that he didn’t want to the team to play with a mid-block because “a mid-block worked last season because they could wait for the opposition to make a mistake and then Alfie May would score, but we don’t have Alfie May anymore.” So yes I agree Wade was a good coach and work...

Also loved it today when it kicked off on the second half between Brannigan and Bevan (I think?) a number of our players waded in to back each other up. That wouldn't have happened two months ago.

Superb performance from everyone today. Like most others feared the worst when Street got sent off, but the shift from everyone else was fantastic. Thought Tom Pett was superb again, why Port Vale let him go baffles me more each game. Curtis Davies was immense too and probably shaded MOM for me (fir...

For me, I think there are two points here. Firstly, I agree with the consensus that the £250k threshold was too low, should have been at least £300k if not £350k but that is just my opinion. Secondly, I think it all depends on the actual wording of the 'Gentleman's Agreement'. If it was that if anyo...

It's very clearly DC using the media to shine a light on the frugal nature of our board. That said, Pett needs to perform then hopefully he can be rewarded with a longer term deal as likely he'll be useful next season especially if we go down. I think its probably more another indirect barb at how ...

Racking my brains to remember the last time I went to a Cheltenham game in which our midfield conlletely ran the show. Must have been Duff/Callum Wright era? Spot on, in fact I dont remember a Cheltenham midfield physically dominating like that even in the Duff era. Also, the front two gave the Wig...

Re: Adam Murray after West Ham defeat
It is certainly going to be a very interesting few months ahead. Players are going to be moved on (or attempted to be anyway) and be replaced. DC seems to be a manager who likes experience over youth, particularly in our current situation, but we know good experience costs money so will be interesti...

I don't know how long I'd give him as I don't know what his main issue is. He might need to go and see someone to get his head sorted out. Given what we paid for him, and as he's shown that he is capable, I'm personally willing to give him more chances from the bench throughout the season. I'd sugg...

Re: Darrell Clarke after AFC Wimbledon defeat
The Manager must take his share of yesterdays poor result. Picking two players who seemed out of the picture and subbing off Ferry leaving us with no left footer on that side was bizarre. He is already repititive with his excuses. He is a tinkerman. Let things settle a bit. We had a reasonable week...

Embarrassing, that felt truly awful. Why play the RWB and LWB out of position for the first quarter of the match. Don’t get me started on Adshead. Ferry was put clear down the right twice in the first 10 mins but because he had to cut back onto his left foot both opportunities were wasted when a ri...

Just home from the game and still shocked at the awfulness of it. Outfought, outmuscled and generally bullied by a mid table League 2 team... absolutely shocking. DC has to shoulder some blame too for selecting Adshead and starting with his wingbacks on the wrong side. That doesnt excuse the players...
