Re: Darrel Clarke after Carlisle defeat
why the big reaction to the ‘change’ at the start of the game then? It was still a new system. His complaints seemed more to be about the implementation of the system itself - players not making the right passes or runs. I.e. perhaps in training the players practiced a move where the winger cuts in...

Re: Huff n puff but no quality
Been a regular for approx 20 years . I’d say, that was up there with one of the most powder puff performances for such a critical game . Against the lowest side in the league, already relegated . Where to start . Manager doesn’t know his best starting 11. Maybe because players are so inconsistent ....

Re: Darrel Clarke after Carlisle defeat
“keep it simple” by changing to a new formation with a day on the training pitch prior to the game. Why not just use the same system that pushed Exeter in the 2nd half? I also don’t understand why he continued a whole half when it was quite obvious it wasn’t working after ten minutes? The system we...

Re: Squad rebuild this summer
My point is clearly we cannot wait, recruitment needed to start weeks ago otherwise next season will be a disaster no matter which league we are in. It will be happening behind the scenes, surely? I imagine some of the January decisions were made with the summer in mind. It can take two or three wi...

Re: Squad rebuild this summer
The problem we face is that if we lose players like Freestone, Bonds and Lloyd then financially we will struggle. They came up with us from League Two and will still be on wages closer to the League Two level. But to replace them with proven League One equivalents will mean players who want wages cl...

Question 8, I think the labelling should be different as it doesn't really make sense for some of the responses. It should read as it is for some of them, but also maybe /very likely, /likely, /sometimes, /not likely, never. On that specific question, a ‘when needed’ option would have been good as ...

I don’t often hear a manager big up a game like this.

Re: Leyton Orient v Cheltenham Town
Why am I not entitled to my opinion. What is the point of the spare keeper. Contributed nothing all season. Could have had Olayinka on the bench or even King today. It is getting to the point where we have to take a gamble. You really are a bit of a miserable so and so, dissing any ideas or comment...

Re: Leyton Orient v Cheltenham Town
Apologies for saying this again, but the time has finally come to ditch the Goalie on the bench and put a player who can provide an extra attacking option on the bench. Olayinka or even Tom King. Pardington isn't going to make or score a goal so no point having him there. Got to take a risk now. Ha...

Re: Peterborough - home tickets
There are still four games left after Bristol Rovers. It’s not a crunch game in the sense that anything will be decided. Peterborough very well could be. I’ve advocated before on here for always keeping the CF for home fans wherever possible. If we were confident of selling out seats to home fans f...

Do we have an underling? DC and Ian and AV all seem to be present match day so they won't be scouting the next team on a saturday. May work for some mid week games but can't imagine any of those 3 treking up to Fleetwood mid week. May be wrong. Am just curious how we prep before games. I know no do...

Re: The RCS + DC annual countdown thread
Five more wins (and no draws) would see us on 53 points. So, at this stage of the season, 4 wins (and 50 points) should surely see us safe? My biggest fear is we might get nothing at all from the final 3 games (home to Lincoln and Peterborough, finishing with away to Stevenage). So, the next 5 game...

Been a while but at least we managed to get one post on this thread in March.
10 wins.
5 more to go.
8 games.
We might not need that many wins but it is the target and focus on the target must remain resolute.

Birmingham or Bromley. Sheffield or Solihull.
Just looking at who’s in relegation contention from the Championship, and it looks likely one of Birmingham City or Sheffield Wednesday will drop to L1. Looking at the National League, Bromley and Solihull Moors are currently two of the teams in the playoff positions to get up to L2. Shows the diffe...

Re: Shrewsbury big loss
Just a personal view - it is probably the case that a lot of Championship / League 1 / League 2 Clubs factor in money expected to be cascaded from the Premier League, hence running up some level of debt (not all of the debt, as that would likely constitute serious mismanagement for whatever reason)...

Re: Teams around us - Thread to season end
We really need Vale to beat Burton today. Doesn’t matter which order we are in the bottom four, we have to keep fifth bottom as close to us as possible. I’m fine with Vale leapfrogging us today because it would mean there are two teams above the drop zone within four points of us instead of one. Co...

In fact I may even go to the other extreme in this particular situation and give the away fans blocks 7/8 in the CF only and have the Hazelwoods for home fans. indeed, nothing like giving the team any small advantage that may help them get one of their needed wins. Clowns Steady on. I happen to agree that the CF should be for home fans only and that the club should work to fill it for every game (as it was for Port Vale). But it's possible to disagree wit...

Re: Teams around us - Thread to season end
I've never seen Port Vale as Portvale before. Whichever one turns up, anything other than a draw is a bad result for us. Worst result is a Burton win. We can't be happy with anything less than 3 points at Fleetwood, unless we absolutely steal a point. We have to beat the teams down around us and in...

Re: Teams around us - Thread to season end
Saturday is a day where things may become a little clearer with Burton at home to PortVale. I presume a draw would be the ideal result for us. A win for Portvale may give them confidence to go on a little run with their up and coming games. Again we don't want Burton getting 3 points and stretching...

Re: The last two.- standing package
Exeter were initially only given the Hazlewoods and sold out very quickly. Alas there are still plenty of tickets available in the CF for home fans. Even in the central blocks. I can understand why they don't want to turn away guaranteed income when Exeter asked for more tickets. Can see that to a ...
