Overseas players

Often think it’s a market we could look at in view of the problems we have signing players.
Think we did have one or two years ago.
Talking about players who come straight to a club like ours rather than having a spell elsewhere in the UK first.

As previously mentioned I reckon it’s wide man Wes McDonald. Free agent that DC has worked with before.

Re: Robins Report Podcast
Fair play to you lads for producing the podcast every week.
I’ve had numerous conversations with Robins fans since Saturday and most agree with the sentiments of those who’ve contributed.
After the best part of two hours of conversation on the podcast I don’t feel any better…..

Re: Forward on trial
Any ideas who it is/was? DC said it would be on non-contract terms, whoever it is / was. I can't recall the last time we had a player on non-contract terms. Probably in our Southern League days! Half the squad were non-contract back then, could come and go as long as seven days notice of approach w...

Re: Darrell Clarke after Wycombe defeat
Interesting words from DC in the interview. “It's been a really tough window, there is no hiding from that.” No doubt we were in for a number of players that we couldn’t attract to WR. He isn’t the first or the last manager here who’ll have the same challenges. Would be interesting to see who the pl...

My post from Tuesday :-
“Another possibility is/was Wes McDonald who did well for DC at Walsall. Played against us wide left when we won 2-1 up there four years ago. He’s currently a free agent.”

Re: Forward on trial
I doubt some of the names being banded about would consider joining us for the wages we offer or even think they’d have to stoop to having a trial.
Probably it’s another unknown.
But you never know.

A couple of mentions of Williams playing left of the back three.
After his calamitous cameo appearance there against Orient, I wouldn’t bother.

Re: Third deadline day departure
Surprised we’ve let Smith go. Thought he had a great game v Portsmouth. Just hope we get an explanation of why we’ve let some players go and the reasoning of the players we’ve signed. Wholesale January changes in 2013 and 2015, both didn’t have the desired effect, and I hope recent goings on does no...

Re: JP tweeting
Wasn’t Byron Harrison literally a last minute (i.e. 23.59) signing in January 2013?
What others have gone to the wire?
Transfer deadline day in 2015 was a bit of a disaster. Signed a load of dross in desperation and it didn’t end well did it.

Kieran Hehir played for us in the mid to late 1970's, he scored two hat tricks in his first 10 games or so for us and looked a real prospect before fading away. I played golf with him a few times and he was a great chap, very sorry when I heard he had died at a young age. https://www.ctfc.com/news/2...

Re: Another game v Wycombe
I've watched the second half now and yes Wycombe were the better side. Mooney went off injured after missing a great chance, Charlie Griffin came on as sub and there were few clear cut chances after that, although Guinan should have done better for us with his one opportunity. I thought Caines and S...

Another game v Wycombe
Not much on the telly tonight so I’ve dug out a dvd boxset of the two play off semi finals v Wycombe in 2006 and the final v Grimsby. Very valid points Broadway Brian.
Losing Goodwin and probably Street could well be a disaster. Just when you think we’ve turned the corner under DC’s new style of play.

Matt Taylor was a very good player at this level for Bristol Rovers and Oxford but sadly I think his best days are behind him. We’ll see. Mullin probably earns more in a week at Wrexham than most of our players earn in a month.
Billy Waters could well have been more in our price bracket, but he’s gone to join Grant at Donny Rovers.

Poor recent form, struggling to score and some major injuries to strikers and defenders. https://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/derby-county-injury-latest-cheltenham-9056800 They seem to be flogging the same players week in week out. Re: Rumour Mill
Have to say, this transfer window is sucking some of the optimism out of me. Unless 2 good ones are pulled out of the hat, we will have an uphill battle to get 10 wins from 20. At least we have tied down King as a pro DC has to dip into his bag of tricks and pull out a gem of a lower-league striker...
