The sword of Damocles has not yet fallen.
12 wins down.
Will one more do it?
A 15th would have seen us safe, so as usual the countdown thread was on the money.

Re: tonight
If we can be certain about anything it is that football is full of surprises.
Relegation has hung over us like the sword of Damocles since August. We are all holding our breath now, prepared for it to finally drop and end the dread. But we cross fingers it stays hanging a little longer.

Re: Cheltenham Town v Lincoln City
It's almost as if they're waiting for our LCB and RCB to get isolated against their wingers - rapid balls from the centre out wide are leaving Shep and Davies one on one and they don't have the pace. This is Harrop's time to shine with 15/20 minutes to go... Thomas on in the first half again - and ...

I had discounted Cambridge so thanks for including…it’s possible we could actually be above them before the final game in the best case scenario.

Re: Peterborough - home tickets
Seats not selling very well, maybe the board were right. Last home game on a sat this season and plenty left, shame. It takes more than one game for word to spread and people to start realising tickets are available. I personally think you have to wait half a season of those blocks being open before...

Thomas and King provide an energetic and unknown threat to the opposition.
Lincoln know a defeat will end their season. Get at them early on with some young enthusiasm and they could collapse.

Re: Destiny is in our hands
No RCS - this is the most remarkable story in football history, up there with Leicester winning the Premiership. It's still in our hands. Imagine that (and we don't need to imagine - I asked the question when DC came in and the overwhelming response was 'this would trump ANY achievement the club ha...

Reading can do the f*ck they want if they turn Burton over on Saturday. Never would goals from a financially doped strike force be more welcome.

Re: Destiny is in our hands
Still in our hands, fck the haters this is the most remarkable football story of all time. Coyr Still fighting. That’s all we can ask. We should have been safe weeks ago, but that’s in the past now and we can’t change it. Those games are history, the next game’s a mystery. The second half yesterday...

Please, while we rightly indulge in all this back slapping. Can we perhaps spare a few moments and maybe have a vegan meal tonight, just as a mark of respect. 😀😂 CTFC still the best team in (administrative, not historic) Gloucestershire and the only football league side! Always have been and always...

Re: Peterborough - home tickets
Checked just now with dummy bookings. Blocks 6 and 7 both on sale to home fans against Lincoln on Saturday and Peterborough on Tuesday. Some people have got their wish. Now let’s see if the fickle fans of Cheltenham turn out in the required numbers. Whether they turn up or not at least it means we ...

Re: Peterborough - home tickets
1-5 of the CF pretty much sold out for Lincoln on Saturday. Block 6 half full. Block 7 also on sale. If the good people of Cheltenham don’t turn out for their football club this weekend, they never will. Get the word out. It will take a good half a season for people to get used to tickets being ava...

Announce it now: NO Peterborough in the CF.
Darrell says the players need - and deserve - all the support possible: friends, drum and even guinea pigs.
That’s as clear a message as possible to the Board.

11 wins down. Not enough games to get four more but three will do it.

Ten of our signings involved an intermediary - or agent - who commanded fees.

Re: Agents fees
Look at league 2. The highest spending is soon to be relegated . It doesn’t necessarily correlate that the more you spend, the better your outcome . A bit like me missing Carlisle before, you have missed Wrexham. The highest spending is already promoted, but yes you’re right that money is no guaran...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Bristol Rovers
To play our aggressive pressing game we really need to use four fullbacks and four running strikers a match. This is something we haven’t been able to do since January, maybe even longer ago. We have run out of available fit players who can do it. When the likes of Lloyd and Ferry are playing throug...

Re: Away fans
Should we go down, which looks increasingly likely by the week. Given the atmosphere that is created does not travel well and with the understanding that very few clubs would bring more than 700 away fans in League 2, is it finally time to give home fans both ends and incorporate the away support i...

All for not feathering the nests of agents. But appreciate being prudent has consequences. As an aside, why on earth does this happen anyway? Why don’t players pay the agents fees? It’s surely a bit like me buying a house and paying the sellers estate agent fees. Market forces. Say the arrangement ...

Well said re jeering and targeting of individual players from fans and the need to support the team in the relegation battle rather than undermine it.
