Re: Match off tomorrow
Rubbish decision. Far too early to call off with no frost tonight and warming in the morning. Was Dickie Bird making the decision?

Re: Done deal
This site does, periodically, turn in on itself. There becomes two entrenched camps. Rose-tinters versus realists. Yates in versus Yates out. Broom awful or broom just merely really poor. The sale of May has really rankled with some people who now seem hell bent on blaming the board for everything....

Re: GOODWIN'S REPLACEMENT.
Tomorrow is the 18th, January. Not a single player through the door. If there is no replacement for Goodwin by Saturday then expect verbal protests on the terraces #SackTheBoard Tom Pett. Signed in November. Short term.Signed in January so as far as I am concerned ,one extra from the squad we had.

Re: Agents
Very idle speculation. Southwood,Smith,Davies, Street,Thompson and Pett have all been good recruits. Street and Southwood were Moore signings, he did all the work and I wouldn't be surprised if we paid their agents given there was competition for both. Davies came because of Wade at the end of his ...

Re: Done deal
You seem to assume DC wasn't on board with this. Why? I can only make my conclusions without, like yourself and others, having no insight as to what goes on at board level. In saying that, it is clear we have missed a number of our first line targets, last week it was two of the 3 - 4, if it is wor...

Re: Done deal
A few saying the money will boost the budget but who are the players lining up to join a team in a relegation battle? It ain’t easy getting anyone to join us. We’re already 17 days into January and we’ve had two targets turn us down. I’d rather Goodwin had stayed. Let’s build a team that can stay t...

Re: Done deal
I love this belief that we can simply make Will Goodwin stay and continue performing at the same level for the rest of the season, despite depriving him of a move to a bigger club (and Oxford are bigger) to earn more money and potentially gain promotion. This isn't Fifa or Football Manager. Once cl...

Re: Goodwin
On the face of it, it will be very disappointing to lose a player who is just finding his feet in League 1 and could go on to be a very good player for us and score the goals to keep us up and take us forward. However, 16 games and 6 goals is a really small sample size for clubs to judge a player a...

Re: Goodwin
Of course the Manager wants to keep him. Most people here do.It does not mean he will not go. DC has done a clever thing pointing out that Goodwin has a good future to motivate him and spark some interest. He has been around long enough to know that January is the silly season and if Goodwin wants to...

Re: League 1 New Year window shopping
I agree 1985. He needs the right club and the right role similar to what has happened to Goodwin. We might pick up Troy Deeney as a free agent in a few weeks time.

Re: Missed out
I was starting to get the feeling we'd likely missed out given the lack of transfer activity. I know we essentially pay good league two wages but surely we can get some good lower league experience in with that. I doubt many are on League 2 wages. Especially those on new contracts since we went/sta...

We could take the painted boards down and train on Cakebridge Place surrounds.. Roger Thorndale trained there when it was "The Cabbage Patch" and managed 700 + games without training injuries.

Re: Tom Pett's story so far
Returnable loans were there to cover injuries. Bevan turned out to be very good. Thompson ,Smith ,Davies, Street and Southwood have all been part of the good run so I would say that recruitment has been good. It is who is in the 18 that counts. Tom Pett has been the icing on the cake.

Re: Adam Murray
I presume Eastbourne will pay way more than we ever can, he seems a pretty driven character and would do what he wants for him. Again the board need to be asked questions as to how this materialized, I know you can't control the individual but the club can protect their 'assets' and lessen the impa...

Re: Adam Murray
The maxim of 'no loyalty in football' has been proven once again. This is concerning, wouldn't be surprised if Ashley Vincent takes the role. The turnover in staff, suggests something is wrong. Unfortunately there is no accountability with those running the club as to why this has been allowed to h...
