Re: League One next season

Clubs looking likely to come up from L2 are a long way from Gloucestershire, with the exception of Northampton which is reasonably close. Likewise, the Championship clubs coming down are all northern, though Cardiff are getting dragged into it. Which would be, er, interesting next season. None of t...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Sheffield Wednesday

Can somebody please explain to me what the offence was that led to the award of the free kick that led to Wednesday's first goal? I couldn't fathom it at the time and the extended highlights confuse me even further. As a footnote, the header is something Caleb Taylor can learn from. No. Was close t...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Sheffield Wednesday

Brilliant game of football that one but I doubt I've felt so deflated with 2-2 draw. We were right at it from the start tonight, pressing Wednesday back and attacking with purpose and confidence but sadly the subs made us weaker. Perry had one of his better games but when Goodwin came on we stopped...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Exeter City

If for no other reason than possession statistics are purely quantitative rather than quantitative they have little appeal to me.

5% possession on the half way line is not the equivalent of 5% possession on the edge of/within the opposition box. Except in the statistics!

Re: Peterborough United v Cheltenham Town

Been to every home game and half a dozen away and that was by far our best 90 mins of the season. Apropos Alfie, would be v sad if he goes but I think it's inevitable; couldn't for a moment begrudge him a bigger contract at this stage of his career. He came over to the touchline post match yesterday...

Bonds to miss Sheff Wed too. Utterly ridiculous to lose players at this crucial stage of the season especially small clubs like us. Will the Irish and Guyana FA's pay the loss of earnings if we were to lose those games and subsequently go down?!?!?! At least we have quantity and quality to cover bo...

Re: Wade Elliott after defeat at Derby

The players can only do that once the game has got going. The fans can do it before kick off, and during the first few mins of the game before it gets going. The game shouldn’t kick off in silence. It needs to kick off with a crescendo and wave for the players to ride. Then it’s over to them. I hea...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Barnsley

In my opinion the difference between reaction to Duffs statements and Wades even when saying similar things, is that Duff had over his first three years built up a level of trust and credibility in that we had seen what he said usually was backed up by what we saw. Wade is starting from zero and tr...

Re: Cheltenham Town v Barnsley

Thought Barnsley were impressive. Looked sharper and generally better than us. 2 goals down in the first 15 mins whilst not necessarily decisive had a big effect on the subsequent pattern of play. Not much positive to take from the game but one thing for me was that players never gave up. Too many c...

I really don't know. A few long term injuries in a small squad - like most teams I guess, bad run and absolutely no confidence. Lot has been said about the manager speaking with Rotherham - only those inside will know. We just seem to have stopped fighting. Shame for you guys as you are nice club (...

I'm sure "personality" enters the equation for all signings at all clubs in theory but that some take it seriously and some play lip service.

I am as convinced as I can be from the outside that CTFC are in the former category.

Went. Thought worth a point but another game where we didn't get one. That's worrying. The second goal was a shocker. Bonds tried to control the ball in a dangerous area and play it out, mis controlled it and offered a simple chance. He was distraught. Good to see the other players rally round him. ...

The indirect free kick was definitely the spark that caused a crazy 15 mins that the game probably needed albeit going over the top at times. Was the indirect freekick the correct call though? Yes, he held on to the ball for too long but he was clearly being impeded aswell by the forward - suspect ...
