Is roughly what we stand to have made even if we don't beat Dover
Bristol City tv revenue £10k
FA cup 1st round £18.5k
FA cup final score £12.5k
Not a bad return, would people rather this money is invested in players in January or put to one side to mount a real charge next season. Either way financial side of things look healthy.

£40k is not a lot ... probably does not even cover the loss of income from reduced attendances

Last season club (via JP) insisted did not budget for money from cups.

I suspect revenue from cups will not offset below budget league crowds.

Probably do need a win in round 2 as a minimum to balance books. Do that and an away tie in round 3 in front of 15k plus and we should be in financially "ok" position.

Exactly £40k is nice but it's a small amount in the bigger picture.

Cover costs is the main thing but imho opinion we need to be looking at the top 7 otherwise crowds will be staying down I'm afraid.

All adds up. £40k not a lot. But add in £40k more from Gloucester and that's £80k. Given we retain £11 per match ticket sold, £80k is the equivalent of nearly 7,300 match tickets. Not to be sniffed at.

Am I missing something RC
Have the tenants agreed to pay more
I am sure that their £40K has already been included in the budget

Gloucester money plainly will be budgeted and is not a windfall.

Even on your figured RCS, our crowds to date this season must have us on track to be about 7000 down in total on last season.

Dover at home is our biggest game of the season by some margin. Win it and we can hopefully have a financially successful season granted a good draw and some form of telly money in round 3

crowds down by 100 would end up costing the club 100 x £10 x 23 £23K but it looks like it nearer 300 so £69K so we have a bit to go before we break even
Having said that speculate to accumulate
Bring in a striker so we are scoring 2 and 3s every game and wining then the gates go up and everyone is happy
We need to win on saturday and the week following and the week following etc as well as the cup match

Yes sorry Gloucester will already have been budgeted.

So for the £40k so far that's equivalent to 3,650 tickets.

It does illustrate the value of the Gloucester income though.

What's the round two prize money?

Must be extra income from Gloucesters Cup game. I think every penny will be needed to balance the books.

If we can get to the 3rd round then that should help cover any losses we have. I guess if we get a big team in round 3 or get on tv we may have a bit of money left over to spend in January or to increase next seasons budget?

Non-league team in Rd3 and maybe 4 please, then a Premier League giant away in Rd5.

Odds of getting a big team in round 3 are still fairly low, round 4 is a different matter though.

When we played West Brom, all those years ago, they were the only non-Premiership team left in it apart from us. Bah. Sodding Neil Clement...

I used to think that, but unless Tranmere, Walsall, Crewe, Preston and Gillingham were in the Prem at the time, I think that statement is wrong.

Really? My mind must be playing tricks on me... Maybe when the draw was made, the others were pulled out first and the only balls left in the bag were us and the Baggies and a load of prem teams. Bit odd that I thought that, though.

Would we make more money in round 3 by playing a big Prem team away (assuming a full house) or by playing them at home on TV?

the former by quite some way ; but ideally it would be televised too ! Reality is not many Premiership teams get anywhere near a round 3 sell out

My memory is the same as yours. At one stage of the draw it was only us, WBA, and Prem teams left. I was aghast that we got them given the odds at the time.
